hey friends,
I need your kind advice. I am planning to buy a new Macbook Pro 13 inch 2.66ghz model.I am located in India.I will be moving to US within 2 years. My main query is will my Mac purchased from India work perfectly in US without any risk / glitch??? Also whether the adapter provided with the macbook pro itself sufficient to adjust the voltage change or whether I woudl have to buy some voltage regulator type of thing and attach it to the adapter to charge my mac book pro in US??
I think if there is any risk ,then it will b ebetter buying it in US itself rather than worrying now. So,please provide your esteem advice. Also since I would appreciate if u point out some pros and cons of using MacBook pro as info on internet can be sometime misleading and also coz the servicing of apple products in India is not as exhaustive as in US.So,would like to have your opinion on its main pros and cons too..
Thanks
:-)

i will move this to mac help to get the apple users in on this
but as for the power issue, as far as i know, the power assembly inside the macbook is standard around the world, and the only thing that will change is the power cord and adapter on it, so get a new power cord when you come to the U.S. and you should be ok
personally i would go with a regular pc laptop as i prefer IBM, but i would rather have an ugly laptop that is powerful because i need it

Hello superguy619,
if you move in the next 2 years to the U.S i would suggest that you wait with the laptop :-)
there will be sure newer laptops with 50% better performance and better prices in the U.S
2 years is allot of time in Computer Hardware ;-)
