added some nighttime shot's. I think I'm getting addicted to this. Anyways, any tips to improve my shots? Settings, Lighting, etc.? I'm already thinking of getting a tripod!

Ferretboy
I really like the butterfly shot! Great work! drinks.gif

I would say that a tripod would be very helpful to you, especially if you are going to be taking macros like this in low light situations... You can rely more on natural light and less on a flash if you use a tripod.

I'd love to see some more of your flower shots!

Try zoom out all way (no zoom in), close to object and macro is ok.

Tripod is good so can change ISO setting lower, more lite at dark. ISO high for sun or washout.

Aperture also important. Keep lowest setting no zoom, macro, move close.

Is want blurry background with object in focus. I show picture later to you for this idea.

You camera is what type? All camera can do I say. I know model I can show how do thing better.

It's just a NIKON coolpix S202. I haven't messed with it a whole lot.... I've just been changing settings and see what happens different.

OK, camera is low feature. ISO not change and no aperture set.

Is ok maybe you someday make camera with ISO and aperture set manual. Is best DSLR for play like I show.

First is this picture

See chocolate on plate. Front choc clear. Back clear not.

This not move so ISO low ok for color good and lite good.

Second is this picture

Middle is focus. No front or back focus. Aperture change is focus subject far or near. ISO 800 think, is very lite so not need open long.

Third is this picture

This subject in front and back no focus is so photographer show this I want you see only. Is lite so ISO high 1200 - 1400 is full color pink. If not day maybe ISO 400 so more color come picture.

Four is this picture

Is for animal so must not stay long for aperture. ISO go 1600 and aperture go 4.3. Baby, animal, wind thing have quickest aperture close so not blur subject. Aperture is ok low is color bright and lite is high sun.

Is my camera
canon 40D EOS
canon 450D Rebel EOS
canon ixus 950is

40D good for object move fast
450D good not cost, change lens 40D is good.
ixus 950 good point/click. Is not good date stamp only "postcard" resolution. 950 very good video if want picture/video camera. Sound good too.

canon 450D Rebel is maybe $600. Is 17mm-130mm len, only 1 len have no carry bag. Important len stabilizer.

Monopod good quick picture. Tripod good no touch camera and many picture same subject.

Hope you understanding me. I give tip more you only ask ok smile3.gif

Camera is passion to me. I many picutre. 33,866 picture, January 2009 - August 29th 2009 tease.gif

I agree, and thanks for the tips. Very useful! Especially about the ISO, I was doing it backwards. So now I know more ISO at darker shots, Less ISO in bright light. Thanks!
