hello friends,
my prev post was regarding whether i should buy a new macbook or not.
so here i am.i have bought the new macbook 13 inch,2.66 gnz,4gb ram, etc. through student discount scheme.so was able to rope in hefty discount:-)
now few query.
i tried to run xvid and avi movies on my macbook.quick time couldnt run it. i then installed mac version of vlc media player.while the cd was in the cd drive, the movie was freezing every now n then.then i copied the whole movie on my harddisk, then ran it on vlc,it stucked 2 -3 times while the movie was running.
so i want to ask all the hardcore mac users, whether there is smthing wrong with my hardisk or is there any fault with the vlc media player . also what is the best software to run these files on mac.any other suggestions from your side will be highly appreciated.

regards,
A

Your computer has more than enough power to run any video file.

I use Quicktime, with Perian and Flip4Mac WMV plugins.

It will play everything, in any format.

At least, I've never had any problems playing anything in Quicktime, including .flv Flash videos.
