Due to the disappearance of the usual download/update page i have included a new link to 2 versions of ipfilter.dat.

Hope this is helpful for you paranoid peeps unsure.gif

I googled ipfilter and got an up to date one, but when utorrent rebooted it seemed to block internet access for utorrent, i don't know if this actually possible but it's a warning not everything is what it says. The above site seems ok and i have installed their ipfilter without a hitch, its loaded and working and i can once again use utorrent. yahoo.gif

I usually go to http://www.00de.de/01/2007/ipfilter-2912007/ and choose the second mirror, that worked so far. But I agree, it slowed utorrent down to the max, but just this time?! some more iP's?! I got a connection, but red arrows half of the night, but now it's ok.

Hi hepek devileek.gif

it helps by blocking reported bad ip's connecting to you, it works with utorrent and maybe others aswell i am not sure of those.

you have to download the file which is usually rar'd unpack and move to documents and settings/owner/application data/utorrent

is that ok mate or did you want a bit more complex answer? a013.gif

Nice link Scottee , that seems more upto date a013.gif

Here you can find a regularly updated IP filter list (ipfilter.dat) for use with popular P2P clients like eMule, cdonkey etc. The file includes a list of malicious IP ranges which may disturb the proper function of your system and the sharing networks. For security reasons it's recommended to block those potential hazards.

There are 2 block lists available. ipfilter_full.dat contains all potentially dangerous IP ranges. If you are purely interested in making your P2P sharing a little bit saver, it's recommended to use the smaller ipfiter.dat file. It contains only the reserved IANA address ranges, the Anti-P2P list and Bad Hashes/Fakes. The benefit of this list is that it is only one third of the size of the full one resulting in much faster loading times and better performance due to reduced filtering.
