Full Version: Amd "unsupported Hardware" Watermark Removal?

Hi, i have just installed Ubuntu 9.10 64 bit (dual booted) and i have installed everything and it is all working fine but for some reason i have a AMD "Unsupported hardware" watermark in the bottom right of my screen. How do i remove this? i have been looking on line and i still am but if you guys could help me it would be great! BTW my GPU is Radeon HD 5770 (i know Linux is not for gaming i have Win 7 for that smile3.gif )

I have installed the drivers Ubuntu chose for me is it these that are the problem?

i dont know a lot about linux so i dont want to mess stuff up and i was reading online and people have got a new driver and it is still there. anyway i will try smile3.gif

did you run the upgrade manager at first sstartup? It may be addressed in an update?

The drivers you are using are not supported for the hd 5770. Download the drivers manually from ATI's website.

Give linux mint a go,itg installs restricted software with the install!
