Ever wondered, how while typing an email in Google Mail, you get instant targeted ads (on the right )relating to your email content?
Blame Ajax and Google servers for that! (Legal because they are passing your information back to you in the form of things you might like to see, and not to third parties. (until you click the ad (your choice)))

It's the new online marketing model. build a shop front around what the customer thinks they need (personalised Marketing based on past buys giving future projections)
Ever wondered why Microsoft introduced Bing over msn search? because its snappy, like Google!... draw them in; They realised the power in Google's targeted ad system. (they were missing out on a global mass market, they really had missed the boat)

- I hate on-line advertising of any kind, and don't get any of it anymore thanks to AdBlocker installed in Firefox (latest version of FF only)
- I'm also running a TOR proxy (thanks to info in episode 2 of the above program) so now i'm almost anonymous on-line while surfing as well.
- I sky+ everything, and forward the ads.
- I don't use facebook anymore. (bad dirty facebook!) (or "shut your facebook" as I like to promote it)
- And im seriously thinking of moving away from Google as my proprietary search engine.

Did i mention that i'm totally paranoid as well and have painted all my windows black and only I go out at night.

[Edit] IP's coming from proxies are automatically blacklisted by Darkside, so if you trial TOR, please turn if off while browsing the Darkside
(better get that caviat in there, admins.) Tor adds an On/Off button to FF and IE.
