welcome2ds.gif Greets Fellow Darksiders,

Well i have been playing Aliens Vs Predator for a day now and i want to share my impressions with you and even discuss the game with everyone.

Ok so the install was hell. 15 gigs takes a while to install so after about 30 minutes the moment had arrived. Graphics look great,i haven't tried the Directx11 yet though. Will try and report back. So i watched the first cut scene and started with the marines mission. Really nice. Dark and gloomy, the motions sensors sound. Awesome. Gameplay isn't bad at all on the Pc. Alot of complaints about the consoles on that. But now comes the but... There are things missing to be able to call this game a First Person Shooter. First of all the movement of the player is limited to the standart movements, but strangly there is no croutch down, crawl etc. It's only jump, run, left, right ,backwards etc. This is very bad specially when your triying to duck when getting shot at as the Predator.

What mostly pissed me of with the predator missions is the bad usage of the weapons. Stealth isn't really stealth. I got shot so many times while waiting to attack. Same goes for torrents. They blow me away while im in stealth and still far away. Then there is the pulse laser weapon. Everytime you shoot someone or something you need to recharge. Yep no Duracell available. So most of the time your not using your laser as it drains very quickly. And you end up seraching for a power outlet.A other thing is when" E-grab" blicks don't use it. Most of the time you get shot or clawed while triying to rip someones head of.

Nevertheless the graphics are great. But i get the feeling that i am playing a remodeld Aliens Vs Predator 2-Primal hunt. As the story is almost the same. To be honoust the former game was better.

What may your opinion or expiriniece be fellow Darksiders?

the original AvP was pretty terrible imo, i didn't expect anything better from the revamped one with new graphics, same gameplay

link to the original 1999 release hopefully someone of your history in gaming knew of this one sc :)

I had the original, play it for about 30 minutes, got bored as hell then spend the next 45 minutes working out the preadtor language based on the symbols coming up on the arm thing. tbh that was more fun than playing the game. ShutUp.gif So unless I hear that this one has been majory changed and is completly different don't think I'll waste the money/bandwidth.

I mastered AVP2 Primal Hunt and AVP2 and loved the game. I was a lead on a lot of the online multilayer as well.

But when I played the new AVP on the PS3. It seemed ....how do I put this...."Dummed Down" or Stupefied.

It was made simpler to me and it doesn't make sense to me why it should have been. Especially since the gaming community has grown over the years, players are getting better. They took away freedom of players movement just to fancy up the graphics which is in no way worth it to me for example forcing you to attack from one direction or the other where as in the other you're allowed to take ground on any terrain and head in any direction.

And congratulations to me on the worlds longest run on sentence.

I think the new AVP was meant to target a younger audience and to be made so simple as players could enjoy a few minutes of play time while it is on display at a retail store near you.

Bahh sounds crappy then, AvP2 primal hunt was awesome though, the multiplayer was fun but the story got kinda annoying. But just as you said shortcircuit the stealth really isnt stealth even in 2 it was so friekin annoying that in MultiPlayer your enemies could spot you either with vision or with the sound meter...but 2 wasnt that bad in the end...
