Hi All..I`m sure some of you might have noticed I have`nt been around for a while and I suppose this post will explain a lot!
Back in November I posted in games disscussion about Evony and to see if any of our Members here are Players there...well I got well and Truely addicted to it..I`m not kidding ShutUp.gif 10-17 hours per day 7 days per week..Michelle (My wife) was on the verge of Kicking the living daylights out of me blush2.gif
Well I eventually Joined an alliance on server 68 and we became really good we were ranked 6 on the server I myself became ranked 200 on the server by Prestige and ranked 21 on the server by Title I was a Prinzessin tongue.gif ...I had 800,000 archers ,100,000 cataphracts ..almost 1 million scouts across my 7 lvl 10 cities..I was a war monger and in effect virtually unbeatable by one person alone.. a013.gif
Things really started getting interesting when the Number 1 alliance on the server ..Reborn Delared war on us...FATE...and we were constanlty being hammered...LDG =living dead girl (yes our very own Vampire Darksider)was one of our Members was being beaten on every day for 5 weeks and we were constantly having to reinforce her..so we recruited some of the bigger players on the server to come and "help us out"..we started making head way and we were able to start and rebuild to a very sizable armies each and actually instead of being beaten on,we were able to actually take the fight to the aggressors..
It turns out the host of Reborn alliance has some contacts in the Evony system administrators camp and suddenly our Members were being put into holiday mode for cheating..Now I know some will think "so what?" and "were they?" Well I spent Real money there..its the only way to get any where on the game and I ended up spending £479 GBP from November to the 2nd of March when they accused me of cheating and banned me... cray.gif
I will say at this point, I did not cheat and prolly would`nt know how to . unsure.gif ..So I sent the admin of Evony a Email requesting my account be re-opend asap and to give reasons and proof of my cheating..Of course they could`nt do this as I have`nt been cheating..At this point 36 of our alliance members were banned all accused of Cheating and using 3rd party software to "enhance the Evony Experience"..Ridiculous to say the least..As I said earlier I was on that game literally all the time I even fell to sleep at my Keyboard *melting a sockin great hole into my keyboard with the cigarette that was in my mouth*
The situation dictated that the bigger your Army gets the more resources you have to collect to feed the troops and build even more troops to defend and attack with!
so I found myself Farming to get Food for troops and resources to build more cities and more troops which in turn had me spending more time Farming..*Viscious circle *
got to the point where I would wake up at 4 am to make sure my cities had not gone into Refuge...I had actually become a full blown Evony addict...My wife would tell me of me speaking about attacks and Farming expeditions I had to send my troops on..while I slept in my computer chair! blush2.gif
I am currently seeking legal advice on my situation regarding the money I have spent there..as I can no longer use the game should I be reimbursed? as they have offered no proof of my alledged "cheating" they cannot as I have`nt cheated on anything I have spent a ship load of money to try to make the game as easy as possible for myself to play...
I`m posting this as a warning to My Darkside Friends to be very careful with spending money on online games as you could find yourself addicted to something that can be taken from you without warning and with no recourse to you...And also as an appology to you all for my lack of involvement here at Darkside...
I have been a member here for 2 years in June and its been a comfort to me on many occasions ..
Thanks for reading see you on the boards... drinks.gif drinks.gif

That's a bit of a bummer knightron, good luck with getting your money back.

Fortunately, I'm only addicted to the Darkside.. and drugs of course. grin.gif
tor-angel
i'm the same as chas grin.gif and i hope you get your money back... i don't ever join anything that asks for money, the same as i don't ever join anything that asks for my address or bank details ssmile.gif
Flatline
Sorry to hear about this Knightron and it is indeed a very good warning. On-line games can become very addictive as I found out years ago with Runescape and the money, especially when being turned into "virtual credits" can seem like nothing at the time. Good luck on getting your money back, I hope you take them for every penny you spend, then some more saevilw.gif

I hope you get your money back to Knightron, I'm afraid I don't know anything about the legalities of the situation so cannot help you. It sounds like the admins of this game are a corrupt lot, I hate it when people like this screw with paying customers Grrr.gif

Hi knightron devileek.gif

That's a lot of money to spend on a single game scare.gif

I have no idea whether there's any precedent for trying to recuperate that via the legal system, but I'm not sure it would be worth the time, effort, and additional money. To be honest, I could imagine a judge saying that you were responsible for most of it due to getting addicted to it, and only awarding a small compensation for lost value unsure.gif

Chas.

I was thinking.. * ya, ya, I know. *

Why don't you play the game again..

and maybe..

Oh, I dunno..

Cheat this time. whistleing.gif

What's the worse that could happen? rofl 2.gif

sounds like this was a blessing in disguise, if this game was taking over your life and you were addicted to it what are the chances you would quit playing of your own accord, dont get me wrong im a pretty hardcore gamer but not to the point i spend hundreds of pounds and hours on a single game. still each to their own, sux that you got ripped off though although i would agree with adl and dont throw more time and money at this thing if they are in any way clued up they will have all the bases covered in the small print of the agreement that you accepted (prob with out fully reading) before the software was installed.

Ehm,Knightron, maybe it was a act of God? You said yourself you got addicted. Maybe this is a good thing. Ask your wife! :)
