Been playing L4D2 the last week or so and completed the single player campaigns. To be honest I thought it was going to be a waste of time. But its actually quite challenging and fun.

So the campaigns are done what next? So I got online and found you can download addon maps - YAY!

Found three, Welcome to Hell, Dead City 2 and 2019. Load them up according to instructions and all I'm getting is massive graphic errors of Pink & Black sections of map.

Easy fix, jump online type in the problem in Google and surely someone is getting the same thing ....

I found a couple of posts on forums from guys experiencing the same problem, but no answer.

I know it aint my system as my PC can maul any game thrown at it. ATi 5890 vidcard. Intel i7 920 CPU and 8GB of Corsair RAM. No other throws out these texture issues so I'm wondering if anyone here has experienced the same problem and found a fix for it.

Could be a silly question, but have you updated your video drivers lately? And is this happening in any other game?

Yeah mate all drivers are up to date right across the board.

Not only do all my games run perfectly, but L4D2 run perfectly also. Its only happening with these new addon maps I've downloaded.

The maps vary in size, roughly 100+MB a piece, so I downloaded them again, just to make sure. Still nada.

The only time I've every experienced this type of graphics corruption before was when I overclocked my PC (not this current PC) to the shitzenhousen.

It sounds like a driver problem so it might get fixed soon when the new ones come out -- or you could check the AMD site for hotfixes: AMD Technology

Id just like to add as you said in another post ADL that nvidia pulled their 196.75 drivers for reasons like overheating etc, so if you got that one installed maybe thats the cause of the problem? I hope i havent damaged my card since i ran that driver for about 2 days playing bf bad company 2 etc...

Are there any updates needed to run these add on maps?
