I have just been watching panorama about P2P trying to be stopped, It sais on the program that you can download software that can stop you from being tracked,is this true? If so what is the software and where can i get it,xx

Short answer, no.

Only way to be completely safe is download legally.

People will tell you peer guardian/block lists, personally I think they are a waste of time.

I have been downloading for a while without any protection at all and i have never been warned or anything, now i use PeerBlock and i have encryption enabled on uTorrent but as deviant said the only 100% safe way is download legally.

Checkout the TOR network. There is a new tracker being developed to use the top layer of the network and it does hide all peers quite effectively. I will try and dig up the article a bit later.

I wish Id seen that documentary, sounds interesting. Of course as people have said Tor has its issues in respect of speed.

If you are that concerned about being tracked, then look no further than the binary newsgroups. In my opinion its always been a far better delivery method and since you are not sharing with anyone nor are you joining any sort of public swarm, the copyright firms can do nothing.

There is no program, though if you have a spare $30 every month you can use a VPN(virtual private network) and integrate the info into the program you use to download torrents. This over time is costly, but if you want to truly want to be safe then it's worth it.
