Any thoughts?

I heard somewhere they were going to do a 250GB model for general release instead of just the Ltd Ed ones, but i'm not sure if it was slim or not. Would definately need the worlds largest fan to keep to and stop RRODs if it were a slim lol

Looks like a fake to me. What they are showing there dosn't look like M$ work, even pro-type stuff. And the connections on the back of the board are way to many for a Xbox of any kind. They are however correct for a standard mobo. And CoolMaster? M$ stuff is usually either not branded or self branded, I've never seen any of they're stuff using branded content. I'll grant this is a pro-type so they may be using branded stuff for testing. Also lastly, on the original Xbox360 the heatsinks were relativly good quality ones with copper piping. The one on that model is a standard cheap heatsink, again you could say pro-type but that just dosn't wash, when your building a pro-type you want to be as close to the final product as possible as a pro-type is really there for testing flaws and possible problems before you send it to mass production. All just seems like a bit of a con to me. ShutUp.gif

Here's Joystiq's break down of this new board. It seems reasonable to me.

The Xbox 360 is probably the loudest console i have ever heard. It is much louder than any of my PCs even the 10 year old one unsure.gif

I guess they're slimming the console down to make room for the Natal motion-recognition controller, though I never liked the styling of either xbox360 or PS3 anyway. Do they have different colours of bezels for matching it with the rest of the furniture? I'm pretty sure more kids would get one if mom could colour-coordinate her xbox with her pillows ShutUp.gif

You can get different colour faceplates for 360s to match whatever you want. I'm pretty sure you can change the rest of the case as well, but it would probably void the warranty. I quite like the styling of both to be honest. Better than the last gen consoles at least!

honestly it looks fake cause there is no way they are going to cram a fullsize heatsink into a slim case. Also if they are going slimline, they are going to have a hard time getting a micro sized blu-ray drive in them, along with an internal HDD. But that is just my skepticism, now I just wonder if they are going to still use the sh!tty recycled Zephyr chips or the newer Jasper ones

Your not alone in your skepticism. The whole thing just looks like someone has found a broken chip board from somewhere, opening a trashed Xbox 360 stripped the metal connectors of and placed them onto the board, and the lighting is all wrong. Also has anyone else wondered why at the moment the Xbox 360 has two chips and two heatsinks whereas this only has one? I know chips are advancing in power but just seems a little strange.

Im not sure if this photo is real, but a slim 360 seems highly probable
