I got both of my sons a month trial of xbox live. It has expired and I thought they'd still be able to play, but I guess I was wrong. I really don't have the cash to buy them this, just to play games online. Is there anything I can do? I'm wondering if there are sites that give out codes that are legit. I have looked and everything looks like a scam. I appreciate any help. Thank you.

Unfortunatly not CaptCrunch. The only way to play games over Xbox Live is to pay for a subscription for your account. Have you thought of maybe purchasing the years sub (£40 rather than £5 a month) and getting them to share a account for online play? Better to have some online play than none at all.

You can get 12 month subscriptions off eBay generally a bit cheaper than £40. Last one I bought was about £33. Just make sure you check out the seller's feedback

my son uses his allowance money (when he manages to earn it) on live.
this method seems to get the chores done alot better and more regular.

You can make about 5 accounts (i think) that each have a free month so that is 5 months for free.

Thanks all. I thought of having the two share an account but ones 7 and the other 13. It would just make them fight more. I guess I will have to save then shop around.

That solution works techincally indefinetly. You can just keep creating a account, use month free, deleting it then starting over however does get annoying that you keep losing your achviements or guns/cars whatever your playing

I ended up buying two 3 months cards yesterday. And today I find
THIS. Has anyone ever heard of or tried this?

A couple of my friends tried it a few years ago on the original Xbox, but it was a bit more laggy than XBL, i'm guessing cos you're kinda piggybacking through your PC. If you don't mind a bit of lag, give it a try. Having said that, lag issues may not be an issue any more. As I said, it was a few years ago when they tried it. Might also take a bit longer to fill lobbies and such.

havent tried it yet but I definatly will and will report back
ok so I tried it out and all it did was F-up my wireless connection on my lappy. I think it would work with a desktop but I am not the best with this sort of thing. If anyone else gets this to work on a laptop please let me know.

I myself will wait to try it since I just bought a 3 month card. If I'd seen it before hand I would've tried it. In the meantime hopefully someone will have some luck with it.

I read that there were other similar things: some google results for XBC versus 'Xlink Kai' are from 2007, so there might be different networks out there that let you connect to others for free, with that software on the PC in the middle to fool the xbox.
