Full Version: How Do You Find An Uncut Version Of A Movie?

So many movies have had big chunks cut out that they don't make sense.
Bladerunner is a good example. The cut down version was good but the uncut version makes a lot more sense.
Fun with Dick and Jane. It was chopped up so badly it left me puzzled. I could guess but it was obviously incomplete.
Even some foreign films have many scenes deleted. Apparently to shorten the time it shows.
So, what's the secret of finding the uncut real deal?

I think the secret is to just wait. The studios love to sell the same product three or four times so they release the movie first, then a year later they release the directors cut, then a year later they put out the uncut version. Also they re-release the original movie a second time usually whilst they're making the sequel just for good measure. biggrin.gif

Movies for screening on airplanes are apparently also edited more heavily. At least, I've seen the BBC use that excuse for a movie that was clearly edited. But that's for TV anyway ShutUp.gif

Patience is the key.

i always just wait but sometimes( not very often) i put uncut somewhere in the search and one pops up. depending on what your looking for of course.
