Sky news only one i use really
Charnel
I keep an eye on wikileaks and also Indymedia
Kano
i find that a combination of several sources gives me a more balanced view
IE if i watch a story on afghanistan on the bbc i like to watch the aljazeera coverage and the russa today version and france 24, its amazing what how each channel interprets a single story or for the more suspicious of you spins it. its also interesting what some channels omit to report on.
have to admit i find Aljazeera to be pretty unbiased in their reporting.

It all depends on what bias you want.

Not exactly news, but an overview of topical subjects (mostly UK related, but also global), Spiked Online can't be beat. Apolitical, pulls no punches, tells it like it is. A spin-free zone. Surely the best online news review.

(Interestingly, in it's previous incarnation as a printed media, it went under the title of "Living Marxism". I consider myself somewhat right-of-centre politically, but I am a huge fan of "Spiked". Rarely have I read such commonsense articles as are contained herein.)

theonion.com obviously grin.gif fool.gif

Checking many sources is the best, like what kano said. I don't think much news, if any is, unbiased.

I tend to listen to the 'Today' program on BBC Radio 4 for headlines, then check anything of interest with Google and try and get a few differing sources to minimize spin etc

And I always check 'Private Eye' for a healthy dose of cynicism & satire sgrin.gif

It's the news without propoganda and bias journalism. There is no incoherent narrative. Just the FACTS!

My daily news sources are a bunch of Belgian & Dutch sites, with extra international sites too - like BBC, CNN, Yahoo, TheLocal. But I selected them more on the basis of how good the page design/readability was, rather than any alleged bias blush2.gif I also follow a bunch of blogs and tabloid sites for the more socio-cultural news&opinion, and a daily fix of lolcat videos grin.gif

A lot of news sites get their articles from a central source, though, so for certain types of stories, I would actually rate some of the blogs higher in credibility, as they tend to post more raw witness reports rather than a journalist's story of the events, or a (politicized) state newschannel.

Agree, it all depends on how much of the journalist wants to try to put there view on the story.

It also depends on what they are reporting on when it comes to how biased it gets, I think.
blahblah
Google News for starter , and then follow the coverages provided. and for local news , I follow blogs , blog aggregators or some newspapers' online services.

But the truth is that censorship is inflicted in Egypt , and presumably elsewhere , by the media people themselves , like they wouldn't publish this or that and risk losing credibility for the sake of avoiding any harassment by authorities or the influential power-bases . That makes independent sources far more reliable and even less biased than the corporate media.

Al Jazeera and The Guardian are the most reliable in my opinion. Everything else is too liberal xD!
