Just saw it when i was flying round the web, thought you guys might want to know the sleepless nights are round the corner...No seriously i slept with the lights on when i first played FEAR one....hehe what did you guys think of 1 and 2?
I personally loved them biggrin.gif...

I enjoyed FEAR 1 way more than FEAR 2. The story just wasn't there for me in 2.

Ive played both and i agree a bit with loki, the story wasnt as good in the sequel, but the gameplay feeling was better i think (weapons, explosions etc) From what ive seen so far of the third game (trailers) i cant say im looking forward to it (i hate when they mix live cam-footage with in game graphics) I dont want to see a movie, i want to see the game...anyway time will tell how it develops.

Fair enough, I think thats one thing that made FEAR 1 so amazing, The cutscenes. I remember the first part where you're walking then the shift between you controlling the character and the cutscene begin is right on time and the bad guy (cant remember his name) comes out at you with a bat. The story was also better entwined into the story. But two had amazing graphics and accessories like guns etc...so yea hopefully 3 will manage to compete against the first two and not end up like fable 2..( which sucked SOOOO BAD!!!).

I haven't played FEAR2 yet, but from reviews, the environment seems to be lacking detail just like the first. That's what put me off most in FEAR1 as everything looked boxy and lifeless. Although the AI was decent, the scary bits were just shock moments: heartstopping for a second but never prolonged heartrate-increasing stuff - the final fight was the only exception to that.

The trailer seems to be a mixture of CGI and live video, with minimal in-game action, so I'm not sure if it's what the game will actually look like. The live action looked a bit more detailed, at least ShutUp.gif

I always argued that F.E.A.R was going for a Japanese horror feel. Particularly never ending high tower bland office buildings. Sterility is very scary, and can be disorienting.

A dull office building showing the blandness of a day to day grind. Messing with your mind. A building to force conformity on the mind. The graphics of F.E.A.R 1 under this context, I thought were exceptional. The graphics of F.E.A.R 2 were a little lacking in my opinion. You could most certainly tell that the second game was made for cross platforming while the first was more a PC exclusive at time of release. It ruins the shadow effects and atmosphere.

As for F.E.A.R 3 well only time will tell. But even the worst shooters if bloody enough have a certain level of carnal satisfaction ShutUp.gif

Good point Falcore. The satisfaction after playing F.E.A.R was always there but just as ADL said the most part of the game was "shock Moments" although thats the style they were going for. And ist true, The pale simple office buildings made everything so much more scary...I'm guessing from the trailers that F.E.A.R 3 Will be alot more detailed but most hopefully still kind of continue in the same fashion..
