I Rounded up some of what i've played here and added whether they're worth it.
~So this is it (Theres 2 god games aswell
Black and White 2 :)
One of the god games i mentioned, Its really not a thing for everyone but the battles, the way you control your "pet" and the look and feel of everything in the game is pretty good. The fights were pretty easy at first but once the tutorials were over things got abit harder.
Generally this game is fun but i didn't play too much of it because it got abit repetitive.
Caesar IV :|
Caesar IV was abit dodgy and i felt it had too many things you needed to watch out for. It wasnt that bad though and looked stunning in comparison to some other games, but the war and "map style" sucked. Personally i didnt really like it that much.
Civilization Revolution :D
X360 only, CivRev looked boring when i bought it and i didnt really expect much from it, but the moment i played it i was blown away!
The graphics are cartoonish (in a good way) but they made the game what it is and i liked it. The diplomacy was kind of bogus because every match pretty much ended with all AI's VS Me because i was leading (on all difficulties) but surprisingly i still managed to win a few, lose a few.
All in all its a game i miss (RIP X360)!
Command and Conquer (A Small round up of my General experience) :D
There are too many to handle individually, but i'd say i loved the tiberium series and red alert was also pretty good.
The GDC were abit overpowered though ( 3 tanks could defend against an entire swarm of aliens...on easy
Empire Earth 1 :D :D (2 and 3 sucked!)
Empire earth 1 was amazing, little to no graphics, HUGE ARMIES! Insane battles that were so simple to win with 50 Nukes...
This game kept me and my friends for days! One match would take about 16hrs, Against two AI on separate teams ..on easy.
And sometimes even though we were on one team (3 of us) we'd still get pawned...actually it would always be one of us that has to go live with
another person in one area to rebuild
As for 2 and 3....Not even worth saving to the HDD.
Evil Genius :D
Another "god game" but one that is abit more relaxed in comparison to B&W2. It focuses on you being an evil genius and sending henchmen around the world. Its a great game that requires you to pay attention sadly as its only 1p and only 1 campaign is available its more of a "play once then forget about it for a while" game. I still play it once in a while and its definately worth the 1.67 GB to save.
Galctic Civ 2 :D
Massive (...lol joking....They're INSANE!!!!!) Galaxies, Insane tech chart, good graphics, great unit choice (you can build your own ships).
The game is great but it makes you handle upto 100 planets at a go which is too much to build up...and it gets annoying having to manage that many all one by one. The best part about this game was that you can design and build your own ships. But that pretty much led to me building Atlantis. And then you set it to auto-attack and yea the game is over for the AI..
Holiday Island (
Wow this one must have been made before i was born. Judging by the fact that i cant find a "completely fully functional" copy of it, only some prog files of it that have a few issues causing it to crash, you could say this one is really old but still fun and amazing in terms of killing time with a simple game.
Medieval: Total war :D
Damn Good War Game["Fullstop"]. This game had amazing battles, balanced gameplay formulas, simple control over your kingdom.
Sadly it also had plagues, the mongolians (the "Genghis Khan" crew) and so on....that pretty much pissed me off. but still the game is fun both on multiplayer and singleplayer and i'd recommend it to anyone who likes controlling an army(optional) and taking care of his civ.
Rise of legends :D
Great game with good graphics and simple User Interface...Its singleplayer campaign is fun and has a good story. The units are balanced and the races to choose from offer something for everyone. The multiplayer feature is great and lots of fun at Lan Partys (mostly when you get pawned
Rise Of Nations :|
The game was okay but had to many units, buildings to choose from, it kind of ended up like EE2 and EE3 with just to many choices to bother you with and there was little fun in it(for me atleast, some people might like the chaos). But it had a few interesting units, then again not uncommon in other games aswell..
Sins of a solar empire :D :D (you like stargate? get this!)
This game is insane! The base version(not patched to trinity) is just awesome! The Wars are MASSIVE ( i built an army for a day, then i tried attacking, my pc couldnt handle it!). The Races are Well Balanced...well nearly..Some are better at some things than others but it evens out to be honest. The Graphics are very good, the control over planets is easy and the user interface is pretty streamlined, there arent many choices as to units...Think about 15-16 per race. But it is so worth every juicy second you can spend playing the game!I love it!
Starcraft :D
This game cant even be explained, it is just LEGENDARY... as everything blizzard makes is! Although its a one sided blade in my view, either you like it or you dont. But majority like it, with good graphics (for their time) simple game mechanics and an insane online player base. One of the best strategy games ever made, if not the most played strategy game ever...
Warcraft 3 :D
Warcraft is pretty much the fairy version of Starcraft (in my view), which still makes it decent and fun, although i found it harder to get into than starcraft. And the fact that your base(which is a tree
Another great game.
But yea this is only my view and im sure there's many people that wont agree with me but still....
So now on to my question....Does anyone know of a good strategy game that incorporates having to make a few choices for your civ, war...expansion...etc
I dont mind medieval to space age, as long as its fun, its okay...Just not civ4...i hate that game for some reason...
