"This was a war of Obama's choosing," Michael Steele said at the event. "This is not something the United States has actively prosecuted or wanted to engage in."

Steele also accused Obama of "demonizing Iraq while saying the battle really should be in Afghanistan."

"Well, if he's such a student of history, has he not understood that, you know, that's the one thing you don't do is engage in a land war in Afghanistan, alright, because everyone who's tried over a thousand years of history has failed,

Oh the things they say when they think the mic is off. This is being play down like a slip of the tongue.
I don't know, it reeks of an opinion to me.

Hate to ever tell any one a Republican is right but when they agree with you its hard not to. This has been Obama's war for a year and a half now and the war today is a war of his choosing, he has had every option open including leaving. Bush pretty well did ignore Afghanistan from the time the war in Iraq started. I wouldn't say Obama demonized the Iraq War but he has always been against it and has consistantly said the fight we need to take on is in Afghanistan. You can't argue with History either, find a time in History when Afghanistan was conquered by force.

i think everyone has a right totheir opinion, and i could win that war with one push of a button

edit: and then with nuclear fallout we wouldn't have to worry about it for another thousand years

So you would condemn millions to death with a nuclear blast for the transgressions of their leaders? You know it wasn't that long ago that the US and the Taliban and Bin-Laden were all buddy buddy against the Soviets. All the tensions in the region have a firm basis with with our intervention during the Soviet war with the Afgans.

Nice how we screw our friends and complain that no one trusts us, we could have intervened then with out it taking an Army, when the Soviets left so did we.
