Hey guys i was looking to convert some video i took on my digital camera, it will allow me to play it in quick time as it is a .mov file but i want to use windows movie maker to do some simple editting can anyone help. Thanks

You have your own solution. Windows Live Movie Maker can open and add .mov files to the timeline for editing. You can then save your finished project in several ways, such as uploading to YouTube and Facebook, or to file as Windows Media Video or AVI. I cannot guarantee the current stable version can do it because I don't have that version anymore, but I know the Windows Live (Beta) version can. To find the Live Essentials Beta, just Google it.

or you could download DVDFab and convert mov to avi
i just did this a couple days ago.

Theres also a program called Prism Video Converter, which I have used for many years, it does a quick conversion with little quality loss. I t is however a paid software which you could find a copy of somewhere, or use quicktime Pro which has a built in export option to multiple formats, also requires a purchase but is much easier to just copy the license information from someone who has it already.
