In my opinion i think either lost or prison break had the most entertaining first season, followed closely second by dexter, i have heard good things about the wire but i havent seen it yet. share your views!!!!

Prison break , 1st 2nd and 3rd season were all great

Boardwalk Empire for me is the best 1st series of any series ever. I loved this serial from start to finish. Steve Buscemi is tremendous in this, with very good acting from supporting actors like Kelly MacDonald and Michael Pitt.

The series follows the notorious life of Enoch 'Nucky' Thompson, a man involved in the political and organised crime aspects of running Atlantic City during prohibition times. It also has Al Capone in it...what more do you need?

Terence Winter created this series, he was the writer behind the Sopranos.

I cannot recommend this series enough!

Has anyone else watched this?

Totally agree M-R... It has a total Soprano feel to it and Steve Buscemi was made for the part... Great to see him acting in a non-stupid casting...

Recording it on Sky + so as not to miss it..!!

Lost was a good first season shame about the ending but hey blame it on the writers strike

Im really enjoying the first season of Outcasts, great sci fi series, hope it continues good.gif

For me the best first season of a show would have to go to Dexter. That first season got me hooked. Dexter would be closely followed by the Battlestar Gallactica SyFy series first season, which also hooked me on the show.

Never even heard of Boardwalk Empire, but I'm down loading the first season now. Outcasts seems to be a little more difficult to find a complete season, but I'm looking.

another great series i liked was harpers island... they only did 1 series of it, but i cant really see them making another cayse you can only catch the killer once

Not too big of a tv watcher NCIS, House, and Law and Order SVU are really the only shows I watch but have added the new Hawaii Five-0 to my list as well as Blue Bloods.

Liked Hawaii Five-0 the original and the remake is just as good, if not a little more creative with the characters and the story

Blue Bloods was my alternative pick to The Chicago Code, mainly because I have been a fan of Donnie Wahlberg and Tom Selleck.

I thought Flash Forward was excellent I couldn't believe they canceled it after the first season. They really left me hangin'.

they have facebook pages to bring back a flavor of chips, and to have betty white on snl... maybe some 1 can start 1 to bring back flash forward...

Hey...

I have to say i have been lurking since the internet was a toddler, and very few sites gives me a sense of want to join 'Community' i should say. Although I do "seed" everything i believe to be a1.

I have never heard of Flash Forward but it sounds very Intriguing. Thank you

I cant decide at the moment i'll come back and actually comment on the subject.
ogkush...

But i do think Jumper should be made into a series definitely. Read the book and the first sequel Reflex, Because that movie is Horrible. The "third book" second sequel was a movie tie in which was a completely different background, and the movie itself tried to take the original story but make up a new character. Horrible

But be back later, on to Flash Forward

I can think of one right now

Shameless i think the season just ended but it was excellent. it was all around great. Kept you wondering what would happen next. Every episode

So true, so sad. I was saving episodes for 14 onwards and then i found out there wouldnt be a season 2 so i didnt even watch the ones i saved up.
Really sad, the story was beautiful..
Other than that, Scrubs, House, Two and a half men, 4400(sad that it never got a proper ending) ...and many more but those are the only oens that came to mind at the moment...

A bit out dated now but at the time was an excellent first series was the X files.

SO...........

I just finished the entire season of flash forward and that was excellent.
im disappointed there is no second season, you cant just leave off with all those unexplored possibilities.
I have to say that was the best first season of a show i've ever seen. Hands down

Hmm, there's lots of people praising flash forward. Maybe I'll check it out.
MammaJo
I enjoyed Flash Forward too but was disappointed that the first series was cut from 24 episodes to 22 due to the showrunner, David Goyer’s departure.
Apparently the show got quite low ratings in the US so no more series were filmed.

My favourite was Misfits from Channel 4
"Misfits follows five outsiders on community service who get struck by a flash storm and lumbered with special powers"
I thought it was just going to be another teenage angst series but it's much much more. I'm looking forward to series 3 in the autumn good.gif
Sinister244
hmm anything that has a unique spin on receiving powers piques my interest.
ill look it up, its from the UK i presume?
BeetNeek
californication...best pilot
PH8AL
I am enjoying the first Seasons of 2 educational shows more than any thing else right now.

Human Planet

Through The Wormhole

For fiction this season I like these new shows

Game Of Thrones

Happy Endings

My Favorites of all time would have to be the First Season of

The Big Bang Theory

SG1

That 70's Show

and of course can't forget the first and only season of Firefly.

Thank you for that, I'm gonna look that one up.

My favorite first season up to now has been "Lost." That totally took my breath away. But now "Game Of Thrones" on HBO has me completely fascinated. It may be the most outstanding TV show I have ever seen.
ratz
21 jump street is great, and im just starting to watch miami vice... pretty good as well... so is the A-team...

While I agree that Lost and Prison Break both had exceptionally good opening seasons I must admit that I loved the first season of The Big Bang Theory. Witty and crammed full of all the geeky stuff I love. I know it relies a lot on stereotype etc, but I love it.

robedk01
Try Sanctuary first season - was release web eps only to start with - then spawned into Syfy series.

Haven - supernatural for adults :P season 2 about to start

Dresden files - cancelled after season 1 :(

Not released in Australia yet lol

EZTV are good :D
