I'm assuming that's the Black Mirror 1 you have, as there is a sequel to it now (aptly named Black Mirror 2)?
Anyway, there seems to have been a slightly misnamed file in the release, according to the nfofix that followed:
QUOTE
To fix this you can either do it manually, by removing the bad file
named "majerk.chr" and rename the one we cracked from "mejerk.chr" to
"majerk.chr".
They mistakenly named their crackfile 'm
ejerk.chr' instead of 'm
ajerk.chr' so even if you followed the instructions of the release-nfo, then the original protected(=bad) file is still active.
If you followed the original nfo instructions and copied the wrongly named crackfile 'mejerk.chr' from the CD's /Crack folder (or /immersion folder, or some folder like that) into the game's install folder (probably
:\Program Files\TheBlackMirror, or
:\Program Files\Dreamcatcher\TheBlackMirror, or so), then go to that install folder and delete the original 'm
ajerk.chr' file in there, and then rename the wrongly named crackfile from 'm
ejerk.chr' to 'm
ajerk.chr'.
