Hi guys, need some help with ripping cds, want to make some rips.
Running Ubuntu 10.04 and installed the latest version of Rubyripper to rip wav, but is there some good program to make them flac after that?
Got Soundconverter and gonna try it out and see, might post the torrent link in this post after its done and maybe you can help me out and all.
Or maybe make some 320 cbr mp3s, got alot of old hiphop albums =)

Thanks

Mazuki
check out their sourceforge download page for flac

the first list is the flac binary for actually encoding files which you can get the fedora/debian as well as some premade RPMs or the source below that, further down there are a couple frontends for it to make things easy such as 'grip'

hopefully this helps :)

I've never used Ubuntu but you could try EAC under Wine. I used to rip with it on Arch without any problems.

Yeah got EAC, but Rubyripper did a pretty good job, took like forever ripping a cd =)
found the offset numbers and everything for my cd, so now its the flac encoding that needs to be done and i might be able to up my first one.

Looking at Grip now, seems like a decent frontend.
I could surely use Whineproggies under Wine but, wanna be able to work with some native programs
