I fiddled with trying to get SafePeer working automatically within Azureus and finally realized you just have to configure it to work with Blocklist Manager. Here's a brief guide to how I got it working for anyone else having probs:
Uninstall Safepeer from Plugins > Uninstallation Wizard in Azureus. Download the latest SafePeer zip file, unzip and place the SafePeer_2.5.1 folder (containing all the files) in C:\Program Files\Azureus\Plugins. Restart Azureus. Now go to Plugins > SafePeer and check Enable SafePeer, uncheck Blocklist Manager, enable logging, and uncheck asynchronous loading. Uncheck enable periodic update. Hit save. Go to the Blocklist tab and remove the Blocklist URL. Hit save.
Download Blocklist Manager from www.bluetack.co.uk and install. Click on Options > Sources and enable all sixteen. Click Apply. Then go to Options > General and put a check next to Use the Listview and Load Listview with Array when done, then click apply to save the changes. Now go to Export > Export Manager and add a location, name it SafePeer, use the SafePeer format, and use this location: C:\Program Files\Azureus\plugins\Safepeer_2.5.1\blocklist.cache, and check Export Location Active and hit the Update button.
That's it. To create the blocklist, click Clear > Flush Cached Files and Clear > Listview Blocklist. Then click Process. The list will be created and shown in the Listview pane. Last step is to click Export > Export Active and the list will be converted to Safepeer format and sent to the plug-in. When you start Azureus you should see the number of IP's blocked at the bottom of the main Azureus window. You can run Blocklist Manger as often as you want now and automatically update the blocklist in Azureus. I also use PeerGuardian but like to have the backup. Infrequently I have seen PG2 hang up and quit, so secondary IP filtering in Azureus is important to implement. I prefer to disable asynchronous loading as this forces Azureus to load the blocked IP's before starting.

Awesome how to, thanks very much!!! One quick question.....why are we labelling it blocklist.cache, if we have not enabled blocklist manager? I am sure I am doing something wrong. If I do as said, then stop PeerGuardian, the blocked ip count on Azureus does not go up for me, it stays at zero....
Hlep?
Thanks in advance...

I could be wrong (haven't run Azureus in over a year), but I believe it will only show the IPs that have actually been blocked so the 'blocked IPs' count won't increase unless you've actually come across one in a torrent.

Sorry for the delay in responding, was out of town for a few days on work (which happens a lot, FYI).
I seem to be having A LOT of blocked IP's with Peer Guardian. Is this normal? We are talking every few minutes. Should I be concerned? Should I go out and set fire to all my hard-drives? LOL
Back to the topic at hand though, when I deactivate Peer Guardian I get no blocked IP's with Azureus. Which leads me to believe I have something set up wrong. On the other hand, when I run Peer Guardian on my laptop I seem to have no-blocked ip's....
Can anyone shed some light on to why this might be occuring?
Thanks muchly!

No problemo, silkcut -- welcome back
Lots of blocked IPs is normal as like half the internet is blocked by those lists (so lots of false positives). The fact that one blocker goes crazy and another seems to do nothing, could be down to different lists being used, though it could indeed be some problem.
I think you'll get a better response if you repost your question in the
TechHelp forum, though

Thanks for the advice. I will do some more exploring on my own and then take this question to TechHelp if I think it deserves further looking into.
Again, thanks very much for the help. It's so nice to have people willing to give their time to help out :)
NICE ONE!

after completing the steps in the original post, are you suppoed to reenable blocklist manager? in any event, i know that "when you start Azureus you should see the number of IP's blocked at the bottom of the main Azureus window," but i sure don't see that at the bottom of my main window. little help, please? thanks!

I just downloaded safepeer pluging and it is blocking without this hussle. I keep the 2.5 version. It shows blocked Ip's, so it must be working?

I folowed exdmd's excellent guide to getting safepeer up and running in Azureus using Blocklist manager. I do have some questions though. I can't see the list of blocked ip's in Azureus. Also how do I update the list manually in Blocklist manager? Do I just export the list into safepeer manually from BLM? I am really a newbie when it comes to computing so it takes me a bit longer to catch on. When I start Azureus in the green status bar safepeer loads first and it takes about 1 minute. I can't see the blocked IPs though. I need to find out how to update these lists and where do I view the blocked IP's in Azureus. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks...Peace

I found another issue in the export manager, in the BLM export manager the format does not stay as I set it (safepeer) the format reverts back to P2Phazard. All of the other info I entered in the export manager window is still there except the safepeer format which has defaulted back to P2Phazard. Now I am lost. I really will not download anything until I am 100 percent sure that this is working properly. I understand the risks, I just want to be sure I am doing things right on my end. Thanks again....Peace... I would not even be using SafePeer if it wasn't for Vista. Peer guardian is just the right speed for me, user friendly.

I uninstalled SafePeer and I am using the autoload option in the Azureus IP filter. I have the URL for the P2P list from the Block List Manager in the autoload now. My question is can I add other URL's from the list into auto load? I was using the BLM before, but using the autoload is much easier for me. I would like to get a couple more lists in there though. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks...

I have a question thou...when you say

does this mean that I just need to run "Blocklist Manager" when I run Azureus...er, I mean Vuze, or do I actually need to go through the same steps everytime, that I did in your setup of Blocklist Manager. Does that make sense? - Not sure if I said that right
At any rate, thanks again
