So for the gamers out there. Most famous multiplayer games play whether on Steam or GameSpy Arcade. Yet, if you have vista or IE7, you can't join the chatroom. This a problem, and i know many people are pissed off by it. Nevertheless, (praciticing my transition words xD lol) i found a way to join the chat rooms. So here it is.

For my example I'll use Age of Empires II: The Conquerors (btw if u want the cracked 1.0c update that is said to be "impossible" ask it down in topic.

1) Open GameSpy & a Blank Notepad
2) Now basically you should be in the homescreen of GameSpy, first what were gonna do is select the game you wanna play in the column written MY GAMES, I'll choose Age of Empires
3) Then you should see a screen with chat room(s) where you can enter, yet, if you click on them u ll end up with "The Page cannot be displayed"
4) So what you need to do is right click on the chatroom u want to enter and click copy the shortcut (something like that cuz i have my gamespy in french) it u right click on the chatroom link, and copy tthe shortcut, basically its the thing just after Copy so just click the thing after Copy.
5) Paste it in a notepad, you should get something like this

6) Now from that link you'll need to memorice a number in the last party there is this %7C-1%7C). For Age of Empires, -1 is the number i'll need to memorize (I'll explain later). The number cab be betweeb 1 and 3 numbers, and can be positive or negative. The number is usualy in the middle of the 7C's. 7C is NOT part of the number
7) Then go to C:\Program Files\GameSpy Arcade\Services in the your directory, and find how ur game exactly titled. Example if i have Age of Empires in Services i'll have it abbreviatede as aoe. So note down the name of your game
8) Then, you'll write a link as the following in note pad
nameofthegame:///?type=group&group=your number

therefore, if i waas to do this with age of empires i would end up with
aoe2:///?type=group&group=-1

After you've done this step press Ctrl+O when your in GameSpyArcade, and you should a Window with Open LInk on it
copy paste the nameofthegame:///?type=group&group=your number link, and you should be in chatroom!!!
Cheers!!!! Save the notepad so you don't have to do this each time, and just copy/paste
