Hi guys..
I was thinking of making a guide to help you to put a movie on PSP via Nero Recode...

HERE IT IS:

1. Insert DVD into PC
2. Insert PSP with memory stick for putting vid on
3. Start Nero Recode and choose...Recode DVDs and Videos to Nero Digital
4. Add the content you want to convert to your PSP and select the Nero Digital profile Memory Stick Video PSP compatible
5.With the Video button it is now possible to create thumbnails from the exported videos for each title. (OPTIONAL)
6.Click Next and it should automatically find the PSP and the folder where the movie should go
7. Click nero digital settins on the side bar and select 'expert mode'
8. Find the tab which lets you check "Enable Quicktime..." then tick the box
9. Go back to general...type in a title for the movie
10. Hit burn and in approx. 1hour you have got a movie on your PSP

Any problem add to this topic or PM me a013.gif a013.gif

What's the best way to convert for PS3? I've done MediaHome with little luck and also Recode to Cinema AVC (using external HDD), both methods yield low quality for avi's and chopped up vob files. In addition, these conversions are very inefficient and take 7 hours+. PS3 video 9 is just as bad and has a terrible GUI. Any ideas??

Brilliant. Much easier than other methods...

Well, many PS3 owners have told me most of my releases work on it, and I use Handbrake, so I would recommend that. Just make sure you use the x264 video encoder, AAC audio, and MP4 container, as well as set the advanced x264 options to "level=4.1" (without quotes).

Back to the original post, 'DVD to PSP'

Tried a copied DVD (Die Hard 4) worked OK up to no.8, couldn't find 'Quicktime Box', so hit 'Burn' and waited. Took about 2hrs then stuck at 92% with 5mins left. PSP stopped downloading (Cylon thingy!) So I aborted it and had a look what I'd ended up with! I could see that the Free Space on the Stick was down, so I knew something had gone onto the PSP!

After a little search I found the film was in the 100MNV01 folder, so I transfered it onto my desktop and then into the PSP VIDEO folder where it plays perfectly!

Some of the problems I encountered are more than likely my own fault, but this is a fantastic find, Mr Bartman, and with a little work could be even better! I'll try it with a prerecorded DVD next! good.gif

This time I copied StarWars epIII from the proper, bought DVD!

No problems, copied straight into the 100MNV01 folder, but as an MPEG4 file, so it plays straight from the PSP menu! I would advise anyone using this method to enable 'Video preview', just to make sure the film has copied to the end!

Just one more thing, I'm using the paid for Nero7, don't know if that makes a difference?

Well Done, Mr Bartman, this has changed the way I'll put DVD's on my PSP from now on! a013.gif
