How to install ‘Spell Checker’ into IE7

(Should work in IE6 also but I haven’t tested it)

This is a very easy thing to do but, I’ll go through it step by step.

First of all, it makes life a little bit easier if your Menu Bar is on show. To do this, click the small down arrow besides the Tools icon and then check the Menu Bar.

Right lets now get on with installing the spell checker.
  1. On the menu bar click Tools > Manage Add-ons > Find more Add-ons. A new Internet page will open.
  2. Scroll down the page and click Tools and Utilities. Another new page will open.
  3. Scroll down until you get to ieSpell and click Download Now.
  4. Once it has finished downloading shut down Internet Explorer and install the software.
  5. When the install has finished open IE and once again click the down arrow next to the Tools icon and you should see the Spell Check icon there.

If you wish to have the Spell Checker permanently showing on the Toolbar just follow this step.
  1. Click View > Toolbars and un-check the Lock the Toolbars. You should then see a vertical line (like this).
  2. Hover the mouse over it until the pointer changes to a left/right arrow. Click and drag to the left until the Spell Checker is on show.
  3. Finally click View > Toolbars and re-check the Lock the Toolbars.

The default for ieSpell is English(US) but that can be changed to English(UK) or English(Canadian) if needed. To change this just click the Tools down arrow and select ieSpell Options.
