Hey all looking for a new anime to watch while waiting on other anime eps to come out. Currently watching Bleach, Naruto, and Kenichi worlds strongest disciple. Looking for something along the same lines of the above said anime. Love samurai anime and such. Not much on the mecha and such. Does not have to be feudal japan type anime but something with fighting and such. I have seen samurai 7, kenshin, champloo, kyo, ninja scroll, basilisk, shura no toki, peace maker. and too many others to list. any and all ideas are welcome. I currently prefer fansubbed. I speak english but prefer to watch the subbed versions. Thanks in advance.

have you tried Samurai X... it was amazing, but looking at the genre of anime you watch im sure you have...

other than thatm theres not much more to offer on my part as far as samurai style anime goes.... hmm, Flame of Recca was good, but its a tad old, give it a try if you wish, and you will probably laugh at all the Naruto terms that are in it, but it came before Naruto, lol...

[have you tried reading the manga to Naruto and Bleach to kill time while waiting for new eps? thats what I usually do, or play Naruto Arena... google that if u want to play it, lol]

but above all AKIRA
lazyprofessional
You show try watching Berserk, the anime is based in medieval times. The anime kinda leaves off at the very end leaving you a bit confused but thats when you pick up the manga. Also you may want to check out Blue Gender and Gantz, both are great shows.

If you havent already seen it, then one piece is the future for you.

Its about pirates (yargh), and the best way to describe it is awsomnessess, its the dogs balls. Your hero is monkey D. Luffy, a 18yr old (ish?) kiddish teen, who wants to be the man who has everything - wealth - fame - power - these are the things of the pirate king. One piece is the greatest one treasure, and luffys aim is to gain it.

The anime doesnt revolve around Luffy tho, instead, the entire crew contribute to an amazing plot. and you'll love most if not all.

If the first few episodes dont capture your heart, wait a little longer, because its worth watching. The anime is past 300 episodes about 20-30 of which are fillers, compaired to the amount of fillers put into naruto, those numbers aint half bad!

The music scores are the best (not as good as wind mind) and you WILL be singing the first opening theme at some point, while i usually skip past most openings and ending musics, for the first opening theme i had to listening to it!

on the whole one piece is amazing, its one of the few animes that doesnt have a certain dragging to it. The manga is nearing the half way mark at 529 chapters, and i think it will end near the 1k -1.5k mark, the anime is around 50 chapters behind the manga, so there isnt a huge time gap in terms of manga - anime releases (again unlike naruto AND bleacch). And another small note, i've never watched an anime before, where the caste loved the part they play so much, the caste for one piece are dedicated to the bone, which is a very rare thing!

well why are you reading this bit? you should be watching it, as in right now!

I liked:
Claymore (end sucked donkey nu*z though)

Or if your looking to branch out you have to try:
FLCL (My favorite all time anime. Honestly its not for everyone but those that like it seem to love it)
Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann (also weird but somehow addictive. Its giant mecha which I usually dislike also but I really liked this. Its off the wall. give it a few episodes before judging)
gunslinger girl
read or die
cowboy bebop (true anime classic)
ghost in the shell

lots of others in the favorite anime thread.

Monkey-Ronin
What about

Hell Girl
Paranoia Agent
Darker Than Black

[Edit] those anime are not samurai... but worth watching.

[Edit2] just thought of one, Blade of the immortal

I've started to watch this and it's all about sword fighting and revenge.
feedmeh8
google Eden of the East ... its one iv recently started watching and its looking good so far.
bhendz
Hunter X Hunter
joshathemosha
Najica : blitz tactics

amazing anime, but wayyy too many panties shots, its rather funny how many they try to cram into the episodes.
Its got guns, martial arts, robo humans (humaritt).

definately worth checking out i must say.
there are 3 volumes to the anime, short but the episodes are loosely strung together with a plot of somesort, if watched in more detail to can see there is a slight thriller/detective essence.

volume 1 is episodes 1-4
volume 2 is episode 5-9
volume 3 is episodes 10-15

it really is something to check out, the series are sold at www.play.com (the cheapest place is could find) and ships worldwide.

cheers for letting me share :D drinks.gif

also ive included pictures (if uploaded correctly) of the covers of the volumes.
they are all available in a complete 3 disc box set aswell.

Blood.Red
surprised nobody has ducked in to say Elfen Lied.
its amazing but has a lot of nudity and gore so not for everybody.

yeah code geass is awesoem as well. i just finished up season 1 and im waiting for a dubbed version of R2.

also, check out Hellsing and the Hellsing OVAs. you can find both on demonoid ripped in excellent quality. again fairly gorey but still great.

Beserk. Extremely bloody and lots of twist that leave at the end of the series wanting more, and how can you go wrong with a guy with a giant sword that he uses to cut people in half. It's a little old in terms of animation but I haven't talked anyone that didn't love.

I also agree with Blood.Red Elfen Lied excellent series.

Hell yes! I was hoping someone would suggest this Anime.

My roommates and I all watched this until it was over and once the series ended we went back and watched it again rofl 2.gif

English voices are AMAZING for this Anime. I usually don't tolerate English voices but the cast for this Anime is pro.
anshar555
Someone mentioned 'Eden of the East' which was a good anime and good suggestion at the time but the studio stopped production on it leaving more loose ends than should ever be allowed... ever... seriously... so watch it knowing it has no resolution to speak of.
