Darkside_RG > Technical Discussions > Guides/How To > Video
Nightshiver
1). download Graphedit(google)

2). run Graphedit

3). go to: File->Render Media->open your file

4). you now see this graph with lots of box, the end of it should be something like Something "Renderer"

5). delete that box

6). go to Graph->Insert Filters

6). in the ddshow filter list, choose "AVI MUX" and "file writer", when
prompted enter the name you want to save the avi as.

7). in the Video Compressor list, add "XVID MPEG CODEC" (or something similar)

8). Now, it gets hard.....

- Disconnect all the audio pins, ie if you see something like Audio->Audio, delete the arrow

- Disconnect all the Subtitle pins, do the same as above

9). When you deleted the Renderer from step 4, you see the arrow also
disappeared, now connect that pin which the renderer was connected to to the XVID MPEG Codec' Input

10). Connect the XVID output to AVI MUX input

11). Connect AVI MUX' output to file writer

12). If you got this far... fingers crossed and hit the Play Graph Button (the button that looks like play button -.-)

13). If no error came out and the graph finished playing(u see the blue bar going to the write, it finish when it reach the right side), Congratz!

14). Use the tool called mkvtoolnix, read their docs to see how to demux streams, you want the audio stream and the subtitle stream.

15). Now you should have the avi file with no sound, no sub, a audio file and a sub file (from mkvextract, which is a subtool of mkvtoolnix).

16). Make sure the audio and sub has the same name as the avi, eg if your avi is called test.avi, name audio and sub test.mp3(or whatever the audio extension is) and test.sub(or whatever the sub is)

17). use alltoavi, open the soundless avi, choose external sub, external audio (!!Please make sure you have the fully patched version, or if you downloaded the alltoavi after the date specified on the patch, then you don't need to patch)

18). You should have the mkv in avi now!

Ok for a newbie like me that sound like a pain. Is there a way using nero, convertx, or dvd fab to make an h264 into a dvd5?
