If you go to the 'File' menu in BitComet, and press the 'Make Torrent' option, you'll get the dialogbox shown in 3 parts in the pictures below -- From top to bottom, do the following:
#1
● Select 'Directory (Multi-Files)' as it's best to put the stuff you want to share in its own folder (which should be a subfolder of your downloads folder, as if you had downloaded it).
● Press the 'Browse' button to select the folder with the stuff you want to share in the torrent.
● Piece-Size can stay on 'Auto'
● Network type is best set to 'Enable Public DHT Network'. This will allow the torrentclients to exchange IP lists with people it connects to, to hopefully find some more filesharers.
#2
● The Tracker Server and DHT Network Node List is where you can put the Tracker-announce-URL of each tracker you want to use (the ones shown in the picture are all 'open trackers' and might be out-of-date). The first tracker is called the 'Primary' and it's best if that's a 'standard tracker' -- you can check step #3 of the How To Create And Seed A Torrent guide to learn about the differences.
In BitComet, each Tracker in the list is actually a 'TrackerGroup', which means BitComet will simultaneously connect to all of them to get IP lists of people sharing the stuff. If you put a | ('pipe') character in front of a Tracker-announce-URL (like the last one shown in the picture), then that tracker becomes a backup for the previous one, so BitComet will only connect to the backup tracker if the previous one in the list fails for some reason.
#3
● DISABLE the 'Align file to piece boundary' option or else BitComet will add useless 'padding files' to the torrent, which needlessly increase its size. It's enabled by default so always check that you've disabled it before creating the torrent.
● The 'Search for Long-Time seed when downloading' and 'Calculate ED2K link for each file' can remain enabled.
● Press the 'Browse' button to select the folder you want to save the .torrent file to. It's best to put all your own created torrents in a seperate folder so you can easily find them.
Make sure the torrent's name doesn't contain special characters (like umlauts or accents), as some torrentsites can't handle them. Certain sites also require the torrentname to have a specific format.
Do a last check of all the settings and then press OK to create your multi-announce torrent via BitComet
