Blender's quite good as a 3D package, used it's a lil bit, but it's way different when it comes to user interface. Spent 1 month trying to get familiar with it, and gave up. I prefere XSI UI but anyways as a free package it's the best there is.

If you want to see what the proggie is capable of take a look.

It does ALOT more than you'd think for Open Source Software.
