If you install all your fonts in the Windows folder it tends to slo your computer down so get this nifty little freebie Font FrenzyJust open it and you can access all your fonts with whatever software you are using. You need to register it but it is free. Been using it for years as it's really handy

Font Frenzy description
Font Frenzy - Free font manager with some unique features not found in other programs
Font Frenzy - it's a fact that Windows fonts slow down your computer. Every font that gets installed on your PC slows down the boot-up time and slows down your normal operational speed.

Many programs that you install automatically add their own set of fonts, and very soon you can end up with a frenzy of unnecessary fonts clogging up your computer. Unless you use all of these fonts regularly, they are simply wasting your system resources.

Font Frenzy™ is a free font manager with some unique features not found in any free font program. Not only will it help you to view, install, and uninstall your fonts - it can help you "defrenzy" your whole font folder and put an end to font frustration and slow boot-up times.

Font Frenzy is free. It can be downloaded completely free of charge, and all that is required to remove the "nag" screen is a simple and free registration process.

Font Frenzy™ allows you to strip away all your excess fonts and restores your system to only the fonts that are essential to Windows®, giving you the maximum performance speed possible.

Thanks Akasha gonna check it out now. Without remembering the default fonts for windows is there a way to extract the added ones and place them in the program you are on about or does this not need to be done?

EDIT: ah I see now that this program does this for me, cool gonna install it, so do I register from within the program or is there a link somewhere?
Akasha
Register from the programme itself hun. You can also keep fonts in different folder like scripts, sci fi, dings etc and then just access the ones you think you will need at the time

I've been using Font Frenzy on Vista 64 for about 3 months and had no problems.

That other one looks pretty cool too Faerie.
Will have to read up some more on them both.

Thanks Akasha, and Fairie. I'm gonna try 'em both!

I need to ask another autistic question ...

I've read the posts above, and read the manuals etc but I'm still confused.

How is this supposed to be used?
Do I just use Font Frenzy to store all my fonts and then, when I'm making a sig or whatever how do I access my fonts?
What happens when I download new fonts? How do I add them to FF without actually installing them first?

Defrenzy will strip your font folder to the the original XP or Vista
default set,It will ask you were you want to store the removed fonts.

FrenzyMan is the part you will use most,it allows you to view the fonts in you storage folder (were you put your removed fonts) you can then use it to choose & load the the font or fonts you want to use for your project, also used to add new font to the folder, delete, extra.

Frenzysnap lets you take snap shot of all your installed fonts,do this after defrenzy you can then use the snap shot,(by using refrenzy to reload it),to go back to your stripped down font settings..

When you down load new fonts, store them in the folder you made when using Defrenzy.

Hope this help pjmur.. biggrin.gif
