This guy has been coming to my garden for about a year and a half now for his daily treats ( my dad now buys it packets of chocolate digestives and swiss rolls, he's better fed than me, lol). Just thought I'd share a few pics with you guys, you'll notice in the last ones he has now found a good lookout post on top of the garage biggrin.gif

the pics looks pretty great m8

drinks.gif Cheers guys, the way I see it it's better for a fox to eat chocolate than the scraps from my bin Savage, saves me cleaning up the mess too biggrin.gif
Savage
not tryin to preach at ya just dont want you to feel like a pekerhead when something bad happens heres some info on it

Nice photos, I've never seen a fox during the daylight and looking so red.
They are all sleek looking dark nocturnal 'ninja types' up here in this industral City. biggrin.gif
budman
drinks.gif Cheers for the info savage, didn't think you were preaching mate, also didn't think it was that bad for dogs ohmy.gif , hopefully with it being a fox his metabolism can cope with it, I'd feel bad if anything happened to him cray.gif . Thanks Bunnygirl and WLR, this guy gave up on the 'ninja' routine a long time ago mate, he actually sits and waits on the grass from about 4 in the afternoon for his dinner, I've even seen my uncle bringing down chicken for it rather than throw it in the bin, in fact any out of date meat now goes his way, you could say he is spoiled although he isn't what you would call tame, the closest I've ever got to him was about 6ft and when he did see me he ran like hell biggrin.gif
Dahila
you can give him dog's snacks not the chocolate. I know what I am talking about. Chocolate is poisonous for canine. This is beautiful fox. I seen some in my backyard too. I do not feed the animals, except the winter time. Animals fed by people start to depend on them and that is a disaster. Kind of cute how this fox is coming to your place. He is kind of old, must be good vibes of you people biggrin.gif a013.gif

drinks.gif Cheers Dahila, I read that in savages link. I've had dogs since I was a kid and I knew it wasn't good for them, just didn't realize it was that bad. Sometimes we don't see the fox for a few days so he must have another source or two for food and I don't really want him to become dependant on us or too tame because that also brings it's problems, too many people don't like them and view them as vermin which apparently they are classed as here in the UK, making it legal to kill them without a license sad.gif . It cheers me up when he comes though since my own dog died a couple of years ago so it's just nice to see another animal about the place smile3.gif .
Dahila
Budman if I have a lot of money I would start my private war with the licensed hunters. I hate them. Good because you are aware of this.
budman
Fortunately a while back organised fox hunts were made illegal in the UK, the toffs finally lost what they claimed was their 'right' to hunt biggrin.gif , it's just a pity we can't all get on horseback with a pack of dogs and chase them around the fields, now that could be fun rofl 2.gif
Dahila
yes it could be smile3.gif
gimmeshelter
That's pretty awesome.
Hsv
Cool, foxes in your yard, that would be awesome

I guess farmers may not think so though

Very Foxy!

I have a Fox Story to share...

Years ago, I briefly lived in a small town and my house was way out in the sticks.... I had to wait for the school bus on the highway...
anyway i stood by a highway sign and one day this fox catches my eye walking in my direction on the shoulder... they are SO beautiful I was not afraid at all... I stood still he probably didnt even see me... waked right up beside me as if it were my dog...

I was still and I thought, 'when will I ever get a chance to pet a fox ever?' So I slowly crouched down, immediately getting the foxes attention... he looked at me, but didn't react much, a little cringe but then relaxed... I knelt there and pet him for a while softly and very slowly... I am sure in retrospect he coulda taken my face of if he wanted to... but hey when you are young you are invincible.

Anyway after about 2 or 3 minutes he looked at me again... as if to say, thanks or stop... I did and he looked both ways and crossed the highway and disappeared into the sticks.

: )

Great photos... brought back memories!

cool.gif That's awesome K8ie, I've often wondered what their fur would feel like if I could pet them, was it soft or coarse hair? This one looks quite fluffy but I'd imagine it would be rough to the touch.

I'll try to get some pics over the weekend, if I can.....the young foxes have grown a lot over the past few weeks and they are starting to only come out after dark now so it could prove to be tricky but I'll see what I can do for you a013.gif

OK, so back by popular demand...I managed to get a couple of shots of my furry friend tonight before the light got too bad. The first one is a bit blurry but the other 2 are OK. He even posed beside his cornflakes for those 2 rofl 2.gif
