VIRGIN VM-500 MP3 Player, HARDRIVE PROBLEMS, WINDOWS MEDIAPLAYER, Firmware Virgin Player.

well, i was just in another forumsite, where the mods where rude and the posts ran wild, and i thought i could actually help some people (*and i have already i love the feeling*)

I will better explain on how to get your Device working!!! =)

Well a little history on the Virgin 5Gb MP3Player was a device to rivale against the Ipod (and this player sucked) alot of problems occured like Harddrive failing and formatting disasters.

Well i will include some great fix's if you do have this player and a couple of advice tips/tricks.

1, If you need help with anything you will first need the Managment software! its small file and dont worry everything i suggest is free, and easy to get

the Link here -->Setup-manager

make sure to Extract onto your desktop or any location and run the Installer.EXE not .MSI, and then it will install the files/plugins/drivers and ask you to reboot (please do this!)

On rebooted it will further with the instalation and all will go well,

Now if you Formatted your Virgin Mp3 Player you get an Error message in the beginning of startup "oh dear...." well this file will fix your problem

Virgin MP3 Firmware fix Download and then Format your MP3 player usuing Windows Format

My computer>right click on Removeable media (G/F/D,etc.) and click FORMAT. Once formatted re-name the device to "Virgin 5gb" and you should see a Virgin ICON apear.

Now Create a Folder in the root of your Drive on the player and name it as "System" drag and drop the PP5020.MI4 file into that folder, once copied disconnect and bootup, follow the Tutorial on the MP3player (3seconds)

Music? having problems? well why not uninstall that Windows media player 11 (bloatware) and get down to buisness!

Since the launch of Virgin MP3 player you can only use Windows media 9/10 if you have 11 installed go to Control panel>Add remove>Windows Media Player11 (DONT WORRY! this will revert back to your Windows media player befor 11 and you wont lose any music!)

Now if you have that all done! open windows media player and Locate the SYNC tab on the Player (make sure your Virgin Player is connected) and on the Left hand side there will be a drop down box find your Playlist or Music stored in your C: drive or anywhere else and select its directory

You will now get a lists of Songs with Checks on the boxes, Add remove these checks depending on if you want that music to be in the Player or not, then hit the Green SYNC tab above the drop down box in the Windows media player,

The music will sync to the player and all you have to do is wait...and wait... :P

Thats it. and thats all you need!!!

(the firmware file will fix alot of problems with your player!)

if you have further questions send me a pm
