I just finished watching Samurai Champloo, and loved it! I'm looking for another decent samurai series to watch. I've heard of Samurai 7, but don't know much about it. Is it worth buying? Also has anyone heard anything about a second series of Samurai Champloo, I couldn't find much info about it myself.

I haven't personally seen more than one episode of samurai 7 but a friend of mine says it's good.

Take a look at Rorouni Kenshin/Samurai X. That's a good one.

Samuari X is my favourite anime of all time, have seen it so many times! I have Rorouni Kenshin, but it's so long that I haven't really got round to watching it yet haha. Also I downloaded it, and I don't think the quality is that great so I might buy it instead before I watch it.

afro Samurai was not bad, not seen Samurai 7 yet.

Yeah I saw Afro Samurai (probably a bit too much actually), haven't seen Cowboy Bebop yet, but I think I'll give it a try. I'll get Cowboy Bebop and Samurai 7 next time I get paid.

afro samurai sucked bigg time ! damn, that was some crap ! but it selled ...jacksons voice did that...not the animation.
if u want 2 see an anime with samurai watch samurai deeper kyo , samurai 7 and samurai champloo. the rest are not that good. rurouni kenshin { aka samurai X ] has like 30 good eps...the rest are just . . .boring and dumb. if the series had ended after shishio saga it wouldn`t suck as much. it`s like damn inuyasha...brain killer !

I thought the animation on Afro Samurai was fantastic, really stylish too. I'm guessing you don't like it cos it's American. What I've seen of Rurouni Kenshin is pretty terrible compared to the Samurai X OVAs, you should really check them out if you haven't seen them. I'll check out Samurai 7 & Deeper Kyo if they're good, but I got a bit of a list of stuff to buy/watch at the moment...

why do i belive afro sucked ? let`s see...the animation was...ugly from my point of view. AS has suposed to be kinda 3dish....it didn`t work. the story was....just plain LAME.
if u watch the boondocks , there is an episode about the blind swordsman...now tahts how afro samurai should have been drawn !
rurouni kenshin is like inuyasha....for lil` kids and girls...but the ovas were bloody nice !

Each to his own, I thought the animation worked pretty well, the use of colour was really nice (especially in the first episode), there was a bit of a 3D thing going on but it was never heavily emphasised so I thought it was used well, more probably would have been annoying. I thought the action looked great and was pretty well animated too.
The story was fairly standard and quite predictable, however I didn't watch it expecting a ground-breaking storyline, it worked and was complimented extremely well by the awsome soundtrack, the RZA was sharp as ever. I'll admit the story was probably the weakest point of the series but it wasn't completely cliched and had it's moments. I think most people watched it for the action, which it delivered on pretty well.

still u can`t compare it with the ruroni kenshin ovas, or with samurai champloo. those 2 are way above AS. i jus hate the way it looks and if there is no story...the rest is not important. thats my point of view. u think it`s ok...thats your point of view, not gonna try to change it. :D

I love Samurai Champloo, but you have to admit it has its fair share of poor storyline and lazy animation. There are some real filler episodes and the storyline doesn't get good until the second half of the series really. Thent there are some terrible pieces of animation that really make you cringe.
As far as the Samurai X OVAs go, Trust & Betrayal are fantastic, the motion picture is terrible, and Reflection is ...... well just necessary I guess! Of course overall both are far better than Afro Samurai, but they ain't perfect.

samurai champloo is a series made out of fillers :)) the baseball was like soo bloody funny :D

yeah i know all about samurai jack, i own the cartoon on dvd :P in my vision SJ was and still is the best cartoon ever 2 air on CN .
and when we say anime we usually mean japonise animation.the others are cartoons.

samurai jack is probably the best samurai anime ive seen, and that was on cartoon network of all places ^^

watch Ninja Scroll series, quite short and no where near as great as its all conquering movie counterpart..... but its better than nada :)
