hey yall ...........................

this may seem simple to some , but rem , we were all novices once , and most still are !!

so ive put together this guide to setting up and using Torrents.
follow this part for part and you should not go wrong (in theory!)

torrents are better / faster / and far more secure than any P2P application (limewire / kazza / emule , etc etc ) , although if you have been using P2P apps for some time then you may find the transition a bit head frying.
**NP : if you have been using P2P , then you are more than likely to have a number of viruses and backdoors into your system.

ok ... here we go .

i have tried all torrent programmes over the years and the best for me is Bittornado . all torrent programmes / clients are based on this original programme by a man called Bram Cohen (the shadow is his online nerd name !)

bittornado uses less memory and system resources than any other , and is easily tweaked .[/b]

step 1
go to http://bittornado.com/download.html
and download ver 0.3.7 from mirror 1 and save to desktop

step 2
on your desktop Bittornado should appear as a square grey box with BT in black letters
double click this to install

step 3
ok now you have Bittornado installed , its time to allow it through your firewall .
go to START / CONTROL PANEL / SECURITY CENTRE / WINDOWS FIREWALL / .
in the "general" tab make sure "dont allow exceptions" is UNCHECKED (no tick in box !! )
then go to EXCEPTIONS tab and select add programme
find Bittornado, it will probably be in C:\Program Files\BitTornado
click ok to allow

step 4
ok , so now thats it installed , and allowed through the firewall
time to get started ! .... go to http://isohunt.com/
type in what you are after and SEARCH ,for the guide i have chosen Massive Attack

step 5
after searchin for massive attack , you will get to this window
make sure and click on "S" beside the letter L , and this will list in order of Seeders , the better the seeder ratio the better (seeders are people with the complete file and are seeding it to others who do not have it all and are downloading)
YOU SHOULD ALWAYS UPLOAD AT LEAST AS MUCH AS YOU DOWNLOAD OR YOUR CLIENT MAY GET BANNED FROM A LOT OF TORRENT SITES.

step 6
i chose Blue Lines , as it has an excellent seeder / leecher ratio.
click on the link , and then click Download Torrent , and save to desktop

step 7
now you will see the torrent file on your desktop (white box with grey and black BT in it !! and file name under)
double click this and it will open with Bittornado (btdownloadgui.exe , is the programme name)
the window below will pop up , and choose to save to desktop and ok

step 8
now you will get this window, the circle will be yellow until the torrent connects to a number of peers / seeders (this can be instant or will take 5 mins . NO LONGER)

step 9
once connected and working properly you will see the green light, it will look like this, you will also see a folder with your file in it .

step 10
your done !! (or your pulling your hair out shouting why the f*@&% cant i do this ??? why wont it work for me ? )
welcome to the world of torrents, when your torrent is finnished , it will look like this, once it is finnished you can view the movie or listen to the music immediatley . BUT DO NOT CLICK "FINNISH" UNTIL YOU HAVE UPLOADED AS MUCH AS YOU HAVE DOWNLOADED. IT MAY TAKE A FEW EXTRA HOURS , BUT YOU ARE STILL ABLE TO WATCH THE MOVIE EVEN WHILE SEEDING.

AND THATS ALL FOLKS !!! ......

** PS , IF YOU HAVE A ROUTER INSTEAD OF A MODEM YOU MAY HAVE TO FORWARD YOUR PORTS , OR YOUR LIGHT WILL ALWAYS STAY YELLOW AND TORRENT SPEED WILL BE VERY VERY SLOW **

go to http://portforward.com/default.htm
and select forwarding , then choose your model of router , and the programme you want forwarded , and follow the guide.

i hope this guide helps those of you who have not been able to use torrents .

Keep Er Country !

Thanks dude !

I've been using FrostWire and feel its the perfect client for a speed around 300 KBps....

I am gonna give it a try,..... lets see if its faster then frostwire....

Although FrostWire is too power hungry and uses 50% of CPU ....makes the PC like P-III..

nWays thanx bro.....
