This Tutorial Will Teach You How To Flash A Slim PSP Or Fat PSP That Has Any Official Firmware Directly To 4.01 M33 Custom Firmware.

Requirements:

A) PSP Slim (PSP 2000) or PSP Fat (PSP 1000) And PSP USB Cable [Note: A Card Reader Can Also Be Used In Place Of USB Cable].

B) Pandora's Battery.(If Not Available,Try To Get A Spare PSP Battery And Make It Pandora's Battery,Click Here For Direct Link To The Tools.

Note:You Will Need A Custom PSP With Any Custom Firmware Installed On It To Make A Normal Battery Into Pandora,As The Tools Will Not Work On A Normal PSP.

C) Memory Stick Pro Duo [64mb - 4gb] I Have Tested This And Can Confirm That It Works With Fake Sticks.

D) PSP Grader Lite v004.(Click Here For The Installer).(Broken Link Fixed)

E) Official FW Update 4.01(Click Here For The Update File).

Instructions:

Step 1) Install PSP Grader To Your PC In The Default Location [C:\ ].

Step 2) Run PSP Grader, You Will See A Box At The Top, Add The Location To Your Official FW Update 4.01 Into The Corresponding Box.

This Is What It Will Look Like:

Step 3) Plug Your PSP Into The PC Via The USB cable Ensuring That The Memory Stick Pro Duo Is Inserted Into The PSP. Also Be Aware That This Is Going To Format Your Memory Stick So Make Sure To Back Up Any Important Files First. The PSP Grader Program Will Find Your PSP And Ask If It Is The Drive You Wish To Format, Select "YES". Now In The Bottom Right Corner Of The PSP Grader Program Select Start.

Step 4) Your Memory Stick Is Now Ready, Unplug The PSP From The USB Cable, Remove The Battery And Insert The Pandora's Battery While Holding The "L" button On The PSP. Once The IPL Has Loaded On The PSP Simply Press The "X" Button. Wait For Around 1 - 3 Minutes The Flash Shall Be Done, Press "X" To Shutdown The PSP, It Is Now Safe To Remove The Pandora Battery.

Note: Its Is Very Important To Just Wait And Not Switch Off The PSP Or Remove The Memory Stick Or Pandora's Battery, It Could Result In A Brick If You Do Not Wait.

Step 5) Now You Have Custom FW 3.90-M33-3 On Your PSP. You May Now Format Your Memory Stick, You're Done.

Custom Firmware On Your PSP Allows You To Play ISO's Directly From The Game Menu, Also Allows You To Use Various Homebrews & Softwares Useful To your PSP.

you might want to remove your email and ask for a PM instead, then i'm not sure about the livelinks, but they should be ok in this instance as it's not copyrighted material, possible a hack tool, but up to a mod to make the judgement on that.

this would be better in guide submissions though unless you were to make the tools used here into a torrent :)
HypeBoY
the links provide better understanding....besides the torrent would not have HTML Speed........
Mazuki
ah i see, then a guide submission would be best :)
TSKILL
nice simple guide, if anyone has any more questions on flashing or unbricking your psp, drop me a pm, and ill guide you.

I am now using 3.71 M33-3 but I am having problems getting software games to run once installed on the memory card, is there a specific download I should be using or is the firmware out-of-date or is there something else out there i need to do first.
