Which is better?
The one that works best for you. It's a relative term. If one were clearly better, the others wouldn't be around long enough for you to ask. It depends on too many variables, including computer, OS, ISP, tracker, torrent, swarm, etc. and I always give an answer like this when someone asks "What's the BEST xxx?"
That being said, I use Azureus 3.0.5.2. It's the last version (I believe) before it officially became Vuze.

I tried most of the others, and settled on Transmission for a while, but it wouldn't connect to as many peers, either up or down, as Azureus. To be fair, this was quite a while ago, and I haven't even given the newer versions a try, so I can't criticize it now. Azureus was a resource hog, bloated, etc. but despite all of the complaints about it, from me and others, the bottom line was it still worked the best for me. It connected to more peers, and gave me better ul/dl speeds than any of the others at the time, so I stuck with it. In the meantime, I've had time to explore it and learn about the options, so I'm comfortable with it now.
I've never been tempted to try the later versions of Vuze, because I don't like the idea of doing my torrenting with an integrated store attached. I just want a bit torrent client, I already have iTunes.
You'll get better information from others who have explored them all, but even so, their opinions might not apply to you. Like I said, the best ons is the one that works best for you.

i'm a huge vuze fan, both the core client azureus, and the vuze content :)
but as groon pointed out, it depends on your needs, what do you use it for? if it's just download and seed back, then i can understand transmission or xtorrent or deluge, vuze is very much for the enthusiast that needs all the extra options for tweaking and plugins as well

cool I'm also using Vuze and for now looking good! I am thinking of giving Xtorrent a look...
yeah basically..my torrent needs is hi downloads and hi uploads for seeding...the importance of having all the options you need with a great and smotth GUI.
Now this is not only about me..I also want to know what all you guys think?

Been using Aquisition for a while now, s'ok but it's a bit slow and the search functions aren't great. After reading the above posts I might check out Transmission.
update: been using Transmission for the last couple of days, totally love it will not use Aquisition again!

Well. I've always used Transmission before but I've recently switched to Deluge. Truly, it's a lot like Utorrent. Of course not as much features and such but more then Transmission while also being very lightweight.

vuze works well for me, the 5 main features for me are.
1 supports for message stream encryption.
2 an anti-throttling method.
3 peer exchange and the magnet: URI scheme are supported.
4 an integration with the Nodezilla Grid Network is implemented as a plugin for anonymous storage, sharing and publication of torrent files.
5 multiple ways of viewing a file, such as Swarm, Peers, and Pieces.

you got that right mareman48...vuze is sweet!
Since uTorrent is not coming out for OSX soon enough...out with a new version for pc...
Vuze...is really steady no problems....starting a friend list..sharing among ourselves..with high speeds....not bad....

Hands down µtorrent for Mac, is the best and fastest client out there!
I tried them all, and stuck with Azureus (aka Vuze) simply because it was dependable and had lots of features the others didn't. Since the leaked alpha of µtorrent came out, I haven't touched Vuze except to create a torrent or two.
I've used µtorrent on Windows for years, so I was disappointed to learn that none of the torrent clients for Macs were quite as good.

Definitely have to agree that is is uTorrent, but it only just came out for Mac...and it has a slightly different interface setup.
