Wii Media Center
PART A: Installation & setup.
Required Tools/Hardware:
- Wii (used firmware version 3.3e for this guide)
- SD card (FAT formatted) & Card Reader
- Twilight Hack
- Homebrew Channel
- GEEXBOX
- The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (played at least once)
- Video file (optional. not all file work, convert your own, or use an aXXo release)
Step 1: Extract the contents of Geexbox and Twilight Hack on the root of the SD card, then extract homebrew channel to your desktop and copy boot.elf onto the card. (USA users please follow the instructions here). You can put a Video in root if you want.

Step 2:
- Insert the SD card into the wii and boot it up.
- Go To Wii > Data Managermen > Save Data > Wii
- find your Zelda:TP save, select “Erase” then “Yes”
- open your SD card select “Twilight Hack” for your region, click “Copy” then “Yes”
- return to the wii channel menu and boot up Zelda:TP
- load the appropriate “Twilight Hack” save file.
- After the game loads go and talk to the man standing in front of you.
The screen will go black and the “Disclaimer” will appear, read this then follow the prompts, installation will take about 30 seconds, the Wii will reboot.
Step 3:
You will now have a homebrew channel in the menu, select this then select geexbox. IMPORTANT press 1 + 2 on your Wiimote when the bootsplash (geexbox logo screen) progress bar is reaching its end
so the wiimote get synced, it may take 15 seconds or so. It will rumble when it connects.
Use the D-pad navigates the menu. Select Open > /SDcard > File
The vid will play.
Part B: Encode DVD for Wii
Required tools:
Ripping:
Step 1 - Insert a DVD and open up DVD Decrypter, make sure it's in file mode, and rip the disc to HDD

Encoding:
step 1 – open up handbrake and select your VIDEO_TS folder and the title (usually,the longest one). Select H264 and AAC

Don't choose a width of more than 640. select Loose Anamorphic if the vid is widescreen. Now select the video tab.

You don't need to do much here select 800 for your bitrate. Select the Advanced tab and in the box type “level=3” without the quotes.
Hit Start.
That's it. When it finished transfer the file onto USB stick, plug it the the back of the Wii. Load up Geexbox and select your file under Open > USBstick (your usb may be called something else, just select the option that isn't “FrontSD”)
