Hey guys! I trying to reset the password on my MacBook. It's running leopard 10.5. I'm kinda clueless with macs. I have been a pc user all along. Can anybody please help me, i will truly appreciate it. Thanks already.

did you first setup a master password on it?

what version exactly is it? 10.5.0? or later?

another idea try using a live version of linux on it?? (USB OR DVD) and hacking the thing.

if you use filevault resetting those passwords will efectively remove your saved passwords, and possibly it will even if you don't

it all depends on the method you use though, and the version of the OS :)

if you don't know, it's probably safe to say it's not enabled

but it's basically the built-in encryption in OS X that allows you to secure your /home folder for each user, that includes your documents and downloaded files on your desktop and such

when you enable filevault it usually asks you to enable a master password as well, though this can be enabled without filevault being enabled too

I finally did it just add to type in a couple of command line to create a new user account. You guys were very helpful thank you for taking the time to reply.
