Entering Installer Menu On Sky+ Box

This hack will let you access the installer menu, allowing you to reformat the box and Sky+ starting from default settings, or rebuilt the Sky+ planner which will allow you to reset the firmware for the Sky+ feature but does NOT format any programs you have recorded. This can often help fix a Sky+ box that is failing.
The Hack
When on a channel (BBC1 for example, Channel Code 101) press the Services menu button at the top of the controller below the Sky button.
Once on the Services menu enter the following key combination to enter the installers menu.
4 – 0 – 1 – Select
You should now see the installer menu. Ignore all options other than System Health Check, Sky+ Planner Rebuild, or Full System Reset. Use of any other options may damage your box's firmware. (Please note that these options may deviate slightly depending on which box you have and which firmware edition!)

System Health Check: This is do a lengthy test of your system to check everything is working correctly, e.g. Phone Line. This will take a very long time to complete so just leave it to it and don't worry that the box has crashed. It may reset the box when complete, once it has reset the box will not turn on for up to three minutes.
Sky+ Planner Rebuild: This is reset the firmware for the Sky+ Planner, but does NOT delete any programs that you have recorded or have set up to record. The box will reset when finished, once it has reset the box will not turn on for up to three minutes. This can help fix any faults in the Sky+, such as gliching when recording, or freezing up.
Full System Reset: This will format the box and reset the firmware. All your recorded programs and any program set up to record will be deleted. This helps repair any major faults in your box. The box will reset when finished and will not turn on for up to three minutes.
