Nice tutorial, drinks.gif you make it sound quick and easy. Unfortunately I don't have Photo shop or equivalent installed. Can you do another tutorial for those with AutoCAD MDT or Catia instead.

Only joking biggrin.gif
Dissolution

Looks good on the render.. .But needs a little work on the background.. .

For the stroke, it will come up with black lines for the border biggrin.gif

No, thank you! Lookie blush2.gif

TheAvaTaR
drinks.gif Looks good but the bigger render seems to get the attention.. .I mean, needs a little work on the focal.. .Notice the black color opposite the focal on my tut? smile3.gif

drinks.gif Keep it up guys.. .I'm really glad this one's helpful and easy for you.. . biggrin.gif

ah yes I see what you mean. I think that may have to do with the contrast/darkness of the original render I used... pretty black overall. I could have lightened it up a bit an maybe desaturated it a little too.

Thanks for the feedback! drinks.gif

here's a revised version - tried to bring up the level on the focal and lessen the focus on the background render

Dissolution
nice work jason

Well i wasnt happy with my last on so i tryed again this what i came up with
TheAvaTaR
That's better Jason biggrin.gif

@ Dissolution, I like the way you did with the 'aura' good.gif It would stand out more if it 'glows'; just add a little black/dark brushes opposite the render drinks.gif
PhoenixBomb
Well I used this tut and came up with a pretty good lookin sig. But instead of the white brushes around the focal. I tried another effect.
I couldn't get the brushing to look good :a012:

Heres the outcome :

I think it looks good so I am gonna use it as my sig biggrin.gif

Can't wait for the new tut!
Nice job bud good.gif
JasonP27
nice Dissolution and PhoenixBomb a013.gif

@PhoenixBomb - I also have trouble getting any brushing to look good... I am new at it so I just used different spatters and brushed... sometimes just spotting it and sometimes streaking it... then I used a layer mask to blend it in better... well tried to at least fool.gif

I am also waiting for the new tutorial Av on how you made your current sig which I think is awesome grin.gif

I kept trying and I got some new brushes and I think this looks a bit better :

The brushing is hard at the beginning but I suppose we will be able to brush like Av soon a013.gif

a013.gif Nice clear well laid out tut mate and nice that you didnt use photoshop speak for those of us not so experienced in PS. I know theres alot of smudge/grunge tuts and they all basically have the same ishhh outcome but like I said ~ well laid out.
I remember first seeing superman GTRs and budmans smudge sigs and my mouth dropped ~ the effect will always be my fave and I love seeing peeps use it.
TheAvaTaR
^^ Yeah, I'm really amazed smudge and grungy sigs a013.gif And probably if I already know how to make one, I'll make another tut for that.. .

I also like the way GFX Artists do the Gradient Mapping, C4D, etc. grin.gif a013.gif
Demonpig
my first sig is on the bottom. i Think its ok but could be better. Although for the very first one, its ok.
TheAvaTaR

jackeinblack

TheAvaTaR
Yes. I made the sig/tut when I started using Photoshop. I haven't made any tut since then.
crazyfroggy
Such a fabulous tut Av
thanx

Tried to make one myself.....
looks like I will have to work on using brushes.....What say???
the result:

TheAvaTaR
Thanks CF :)
Brushes and some smudging would help.
Your outcome looks good. And good blending too.
I think it needs some more effects (c4ds, etc.), depth and lighting and it's one great tag biggrin.gif
pjmur
Thus far I have been extremely good at avoiding using brushes. So now I have to ask a seriously NOOB question ...

What the %$#@ is a "grunge" or "chaotic" brush?? And where do I find them? whoknows.gif
TheAvaTaR
You can find some site links here: http://213.155.27.24/forums/index.php?showtopic=66887
Posted some members. You can check this thread which I have summed up all for easy reference.

You can also make use of DeviantArt brushes but you must not distribute them unless you have permissions from the artist :)
pjmur
Thanx for that Av -- you da man! worship.gif
pjmur
OK - here's my first attempt at this. I still need a LOT of help with brushing, but I think it's probably the best work I've turned out for quite some time.
I couldn't get the brush work to look right (even after spending almost 2 hours just on that one part) so I just lowered the opacity and put some gaussian blur (1px) on some of it and some motion blur on other parts.

TheAvaTaR
Looks good mate biggrin.gif Love to see people's outcomes on my tut biggrin.gif
