Hi folks,
I've recently had problems downloading torrent files from some sites including this one.
When I click to download the torrent file I'm presented with a blank page which says, at the bottom, "transferring data from 85.17.184.130" and it just sits there doing nothing until eventually timing out.

This happens on several torrent sites, but I can download on others.
I've tried browsers Camino, Firefox and Safari, all with the same results.

I downloaded Speed Download for my iMac and tried to use it in preference to the standard downloaders which come with the browser, but it didn't seem to work properly so I deleted it.

Could Speed Download have had something to do with this?

Does anyone have any suggestions?

yes it could, if it is still inside your browsers configuration trying to "catch" all the downloads, i would suggest re-installing it, and disabling it's auto-catch of download links service before removing it again

in the meantime, you can always right click on the .torrent link and select save linked content as... or however your browser lists that option

Or option-click the file to bypass any 3rd party downloaders and dl it within Safari.

Or you can right-click the page background itself and choose Disable Speed Download from the popup menu.
