I don't know how I did this but some how I did. I d/l Burn After Reading TS Kvcd By[666] and after I did I uncompressed with archive utility and then the next file with Zipeg and when I did a dvd icon came up on the desktop and I burnt the file on toast to a dvd. I know now that this file is a cd format did not know when I downloaded it (yes newbie and did not know the diff) but how did I burn it to dvd in toast (well I know how to burn) if the file was in the cd format? If anyone know's please help because I would like to burn other dvd of other movies I d/l and put them on dvd format because my dvdplayer will not play these kvcd format's! One more thing is there any way to convert from kvcd format to say .avi or other format's of dvd's (i tried using visual hub but turns file into a .iso)?

you will first need to extract the mpg from inside of the .dat file

so what you should be able to do is open the image in toast for editing, then extract the file in the MPEGAV folder to your desktop, then after that you can open it in your preferred media player (even quicktime will work, with proper codecs) use the quicktime inspector (something else depending on the program) and see what codec is used

if it is mpeg-1 then you can rename the file you put on your desktop to .mpg as the extension, if xvid/divx, make it .avi

then you should be able to handle it from there

however, since it is kvcd, you will need to seperate the audio and video (demux) to two seperate files, convert to CBR audio, then re-mux them to get a perfect re-encode, you might get lucky with a straight change from .mpg/avi to dvd, but if not, then this is the route needed

Thank you and as always you did it again. I don't know how I did it the last time but it had to be similar so again thank you! drinks.gif a013.gif
