i really got into war movies lately.
my faves are;apocalypse now(of course),platoon,jarhead,full metal jacket and black hawk down.

Dude, I just downloaded TORA! TORA! TORA! in torrentz.com! It's nice actually but you don't have to flake some money if you can actually download it! But still that's brand new. I'd rather have that than this DvD I burned. hehehe....



Wow! I've watched all those movies you just mentioned above! (Well, actually my father does. I just tag along!) For you I'd recommend Pearl Harbor, Behind Enemy Lines (and it's sequel), and maybe the fictional Tropic Thunder just released by aXXo.

i'm looking forward to passchendaele (or however it's spelt) looks a bit too much of a love story, but it looks like they got that war feel in the war parts.

Das Boot...possibly the most atmospheric war flick ever made

Mine has got to be kelly`s heroes...oddball is great in this film.."I got three shermans already to go"..lol..I always think of this film when I`m playing company of heroes!

I agree 'Downfall' is an excellent film and one that should be watched by all who have an interest in history. Been looking for a decent d/l of it for a while but haven't been successful. I would also recommend 'We Were Soldiers', 'Saving Private Ryan', 'Tears of the Sun' and, for a laugh, 'Tropic Thunder'.

I'm surprised, what about Where Eagles Dare or For Who The Bell Tolls? Those are my two options that I highly recommend to anyone who likes war movies, they have everything you need to see in a war movie.

I always liked war movies also, one of my favorites is probably "Saving Private Ryan". Tom Hanks is great in everything he does. I just watched "Flags of Our Fathers" last night, it was decent. Nowhere near one of the best though.

truely a very poor war movie, watch the pianist (very sad) saving prvate ryan has to be one of the most gripping d-day re-anactments ever,
but thers so meny good ones, nobodys mentiond the big red one or catch 22, satlangrad, the great escape, the longest day, a bridge too far, etc. etc.

How did I forget Escape To Victory?!? war and football

Well ok Pearl Harbor may not be as much a warmovie as others (its genre on imdb is as action/romance/war) but still very well made. And the director Michael Bay is a respected name in my oppinion.

Apocalypse Now has to be one of my favs imho it's a movie that dosen't seem to age and I enjoy it every time I see it

Apocalypse Now was a great movie, but I think Saving Private Ryan has it beat for realism and gritty high-contrast photography. How about Pork Chop Hill with Gregory Peck?

Saving Private Ryan,A bridge too far,Empire of the rising sun,PlatooniFull Metal Jacket...And i always enjoyed the tv series "Tour of Duty"

My fav is platoon love that film, then the usual suspects apocalypse now, black hawk down, full metal jacket etc. Oh and we were soilders thought that was good as well. Just watched the hurt locker and have to say thats a quality film and has to be up there as one of my favs.
