This week end I've been to 2 Tom McRae gigs, it was in France & the towns were Marseille & Montpellier. The gig was rather cool, but the audience was crappy. He played 30% of his new album and the rest for his olders. But I was a bit disapointed, I don't really like his last album, and the place was too big. I've seen him live in Ireland a few month ago and it was far better, there were only 150 persons and it fet like an MTV umplugged...
And you what was your last gig?

The last show I went to was The Misfits. It was probably the best show I've ever been to. The crowd was awesome, they did get a little too rowdy but it was The Misfits so I can't complain too much. They played all the songs that I wanted to hear and despite their age they rocked out like no other. I actually got to meet the lead singer Jerry Only and we was really down to earth and cool. We talked about other bands and just random things for about 45 minutes. He gave me a hug and a kiss on the cheek good bye ^^; But yeah if you like horror punk and The Misfits ever come near you, you have to go to the show. I was very very impressed.

Nevermore, supported by Dew Scented, in Nottingham
A brilliant gig but spoilt by the truly crappy venue - the band's heads were nearly hitting the ceiling and this cramped their style a bit

The Anti Nowhere League @ Fibbers in York.
What a night took me back 20yrs, haven’t laughed so much in months loads of old faces, but set my tinnitus off something cronic.
It was a Sunday night so had to limit the booze.

I went to see Duran Duran in Birmingham in the summer and they were awesome! I went out of nostalgia, but I was bowled over by them They are excellent musicians and Le Bon is a great front man. Highly recommended.

I saw Mindless Self Indulgence at a local club two days ago. It was one of the best concerts I've gone too. While the first two opening acts sucks. The one right before MSI, called Suicide City was good and brought lots on evergy. Msi came out, the place was packed, the pits were insane (one of the most insane mosh pits ive ever been in, and that says a lot)m the band was full of energy and funny when they played. and the concert was just plain awesome.Bleh, Im ranting, sorry.

The last gig I went to was Municipal Waste, Send More Paramedics, Feeding Frenzy and a few local bands in my hometown independant venue while MW were on their latest european tour! Great fun had by all and I got a chance to meet and talk with Dave Witte - one of the best drumers on the plant (IMO of course!) :)

Rasputina at Chop Suey in Seattle, WA, USA. It was SO awesome - a nice small venue, good crowd energy, and the band was up close and personal. And Rasputina was just as wonderful in person as recorded...no, more wonderful because Melora would tell these hilarious obnoxious little stories and comments before most of the songs. Anyway, it shares the top spot on my list of favorite concerts with the Mirah gig I saw here in Olympia.

I saw Opeth a while ago. House of Blues in Myrtle Beach. Nevermore and Into Eternity opened for them. I was up in the front for Into Eternity, but I was with my sister and during Nevermore's letdown of a performance she decided she wanted us to move to the back and sit for the rest of the show. After that we were hit on by an unsettling group of intoxicated individuals.
It's funny. I live like ten minutes away from the HoB in Myrtle Beach, but I hardly ever participate in concerts. Unless someone really good comes. Which is rare.
Before that, I think the last show I went to was some Metal Legends tribute bands thing. Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, AC/DC and Van Halen cover bands. Pretty good for cover bands, actually. The Sabbath band had an amazing Ozzy.

I go to shows about every other weekend. However, the last show I went to, that stands out in my mind as "High Caliber" would be a David Bowie show in Chicago. Reality tour. The equation was simple, but effective. In an algebra expression (Bowie+MaryJane)*Friends=AWSOME!
On a more local scene, I went to a BROKEN SUNDAY show. They suck, I wont be back ;)

Haven't been to anything since about 1999 - which from memory was Offspring.
However over the next month, I will be seeing Stevie Nicks, John Farnham and Vanessa Carlton (4th March), U2 and Kanye West (18th March), and HIM (28th March). That's what I got tickets for so far.
May be seeing POD, Presidents of the USA, and Mattafix all in one gig on 23 March, but not sure on that one yet.....

As far as famous gigs I've only been to one and that was Brian Wilson on his Pet Sounds Tour 2001 - shook his hand at a signing too, nearly gave him a heart attack LoL!!
As for any gig in general I saw a local band called The Acoustic Pirates down at the pub last weekend. They are a 3 piece consisting of a bass/double bass player, singer/guitarist/fiddle player and a mandolin/banjo/singer They played some bluegrass covers of some famous tunes (though non aussies wouldn't know most of them).
I believe that when I went home to get something (forget what) they played a cover of Highway To Hell on the electrics, kinda wish I had seen that but overall what I did see was a fun gig. I bought their CD which I might even upload soon if there is any interest. Bluegrass/acoustic bluesy sorta stuff :a013:

leaving issacs shop were up next, good tunage, do a cracking cover of arcade fire's rebellion (lies), think they may have been signed to a small label
next up were cream tangerne, split opions on them from friends, i thought they were great, a suprise, a very varied mix of tunes and styles, they are in the final of a battle of the bands comp and going down to london for the finals (them not me)
