sometimes if you update firefox your profile is gone and ff asks to start an other one and you can't open your old one in your browser!

so start an other profile with an other name than "default" and close ff, go to a location listed below in the profile folder section and open profiles! now you see 2 folders, default and the one you have added! remove the new one and go back to the firefox folder. there you see the file profiles.ini, open the file in wordpad or so and remove the profile you just removed :

[Profile1]
Name=default
IsRelative=1
Path=Profiles/default2

so keep this one

[Profile0]
Name=default
IsRelative=1
Path=Profiles/default

*** the application data folder is a hidden folder!

If you have any questions pm me!

btw please ignore my bad sentence structure :-)
