Okay so my household has both a desktop and laptop running Mac OSX. On the laptop, some of the files on the external HD are said to be corrupt and they cannot be opened from the laptop. BUT, when the HD is connected to the desktop, the files are said to be normal and can be opened just fine. Also, when the laptop is connected to the desktop through our router and accesses the files on the external HD connected to the desktop, they are said to be in normal working condition and they can be used.

Any ideas what the hell is going on!?!?!?

EDIT: well after reconnecting it to the laptop it decided to work for some reason... so I guess I don't need help after all.
