Does anyone know how to encrypt (or secure) the connection in Transmission (bt)? IE. when you connect to other people in the peers tab, some have a little 'lock' beside their ip.

I don't use Transmission, but if you don't get an answer from someone else, ask HERE

read somewhere that the little lock does not actually block your ip rather it blocks your ipo from seeing what you are actually doing (torrenting) though it does not take a genius to figure that out when you are dl's like a kid on kazaa in 2000. look in transmissions help file i think the explanation i read was in there.

Goto the Transmission menu bar and click on preferences, then click on the Peer tab, goto Encryption and tick the box prefer encrypted peers.
