How to make a custom menu in ConvertxtoDvd 3.4

The overall method is to clone an existing template and then modify it to your tastes.

1. Clone a template.
using Windows Explorer go to C:\Program Files\VSO\ConvertX\3\templates.
Highlight Templates folder and click File > New > Folder. This gives you a new folder. Now right click that new folder and rename it to something you can remember using lower case. Lets use ralph as an example

2. Create contents for the ralph folder.
Click on Templates\Classic. Highlight all the files in Classic. Right click on the highlighted files and drag them to the ralph folder. Now your ralph folder has all the files it needs.

3. Modify the files in your ralph folder.
Modify the background.png
Using your favorite graphics program, open ralph\background.png. Write down what its Height and Width are. Close it and choose your own background image. Change its Width and Height to what you wrote down for the existing background. Save it to your ralph folder with the name background.png.

4. Modify the filelist.txt
Open the filelist.txt in ralph using Notepad. It will have several lines that look like this.

c:\Program Files\vso\ConvertX\3\templates\classic\background.png
c:\Program Files\vso\ConvertX\3\templates\classic\bmp_next.gif

Note that it says templates\classic\. We want to change all the lines so they say

c:\Program Files\vso\ConvertX\3\templates\ralph\background.png
c:\Program Files\vso\ConvertX\3\templates\ralph\bmp_next.gif

The easiest way is click Edit>Replace. In the Replace box type classic
In the Replace With box type ralph . Use your own folder name.
Click on Replace all. All the lines should now look like the

c:\Program Files\vso\ConvertX\3\templates\ralph\bmp_next.gif example.

Save it as filelist.txt to your ralph folder.

5. Modify the classic_8ch.ini file.

Open the file in ralph folder called classic_8ch.ini with Notepad.
Using the same Edit>Replace With technique, start at the top and replace alll the classic words with ralph .
Save this file to your ralph folder with the filename ralph_8ch.ini . using your own foldername of course.

Now when you open ConvertXtoDvd 3.4 and click template now used twice, your ralph template should show up and you can use it.

Try it out. If it is how you like it, fine. You can always modify other items like font using this basic method.
