Been using utorrent for a while now, used Azureus before which I still do really like. It has lots of options and I like the interface but it does consume a lot of resources and although I do have a lot of RAM on my PC but I tend to like to be doing different things ALL at the same time stounge.gif
I’d heard some goods reports about utorrent and thought it was about time I gave it a try…Some of the previous versions were a bit buggy but the later versions is working really well biggrin.gif

Thought about putting some sort of guide together when I came across this:

he calls it a mini guide but I think he just has a great sense of humour stounge.gif I haven’t applied everything as far as the PC tweaks are concerned but followed the utorrent part and it worked really well for me.

Whether you’re a newbie or not, I think this guide is well worth a look and the guy deserves a
big thanks for all his efforts.. user posted imageuser posted image

Now remember, to enable people to connect to you via this port particularly if you behind a router and or firewall you will need to do two things, set-up port forwarding on the router and configure you firewall to allow access to this port. I’m not about to go into explaining how to do this with every router model, there’s no need to because it already been done here

You’ll find practically all the most common routers and the more popular BT clients & applications, it’s not the definitive information but it will give you the basics you get you started

Of course you may not be behind a router but nevertheless you will still need to configure your firewall. If you have XP, it has it’s own firewall and I would recommend you leave activated at least until you have installed another…. So how do you open this port (65000) in XP …. Start > Configuration Panel> select Firewall … Click on the ‘Exceptions’ tab and then add, we’re going to add the BT client (utorrent) & the port n° (65000)

NOTE: a little point to remember here is you would need to do a similar thing if you had two PC’s networked and wanted to connect from one to another using, for example, VNC.

Now if you’re using another firewall you’ll also need to configure that as well, here’s a few examples to help you on your way. biggrin.gif
