µTorrent portable

A portable version of µTorrent may come in handy when you’re with friends, at school, or at work. It will fit perfectly on every usb-stick, Ipod, mobile phone, or any other device that is recognized a “removable disk”.

Setting up a portable µTorrent is easy.

1. Download the latest standalone version, and copy it onto your datastick.
2. Create an empty datafile with notepad or any other text editor, and name it settings.dat
3. Place the settings.dat file in the same folder on your portable disk as µTorrent.
4. Run µTorrent from your portable drive and confugure the options and preferences.

Now you’re ready to go. You can start downloading at school, and finish at home. And the good thing is that you don’t need to install µTorrent or another BitTorrent client, just a USB-port, that’s all you need.

If you’re planning to use µTorrent on different computers with different bandwidth settings, make sure that you set the maximum upload speed to 90% of the available upload speed to guarantee fast download speeds.

Good idea if you don't leave your box on seeding 24/7

But I prefer to use the webUI of µtorrent 1.6B and above then you can control it from anywhere as a bookmark in most good browsers

another way to do it is too start u torrent on your pc normally, and then configure your settings normally.
The next step is to go to C:\Documents and Settings\(user name that you opened u torrent in)\Application Data\uTorrent
Copy and paste the contents of the folder to the folder on your data stick that the u torrent standalone application is in, and then you are good to go.
hope this helps.
